Since updating to 286 whenever I talk to an npc, namely a banker from what I tested, it immediately freezes up and crashes. I've tried fiddling with the NPC mods like speed up text and swapping them around but it's a constant crash. Am I the only one experiencing this? Also Kanan opens regardless if I have the loader running, not sure if that's just new or what but I used to just load it by the loader.exe . any help is appreciated.

Abyss is loading Kanan.dll with Abyss.ini, try changing the ttf font by reinstalling tiara as that is the usual cause for npc crashes.

Updated to 287:
removed one click revive as it's a pain to update due to it being a duplicate file mod so i literally had to edit interface.englishe.xml 4 times, and the mod can be found in Kanan as an alternative.

did a quick update to installer again to include latest Abyss, those that already downloaded may need to download again or update abyss manually.
next version will have a yes/no option to download the latest Abyss that way if any download problems occur you can always get the one it's packed with, and anyone with virus issues will have issues with the whole installer, in which you will need to confront by force (whitelist your mabinogi folder) instead of having issues mid-install or a week later when windows defenders decides to delete it for you.

hey the zombies in the baltane missions don't have an animation like when they're moving or attacking. they look like they're just standing still (even when dead) but they're not. it was like this after r288, i've updated tiara already as well

That's a Mabinogi bug everybody's getting.

Updated to R289:
removed some outdated mods like unrestricted flight.
Abyss (again) and Kanan now download the latest versions when installing and if they fail to download use the latest version packed when the installer was built.
i expect their will be bugs with the Update Kanan desktop shortcut, but we'll see.

try reinstalling with just Abyss or Kanan and see which one is causing the problem for you.
most likely Kanan and you may need to repair your files using something like Hyddwn launcher to force updates then click repair in patcher settings.

I reinstalled it with Abyss and got no errors. I redid it with Kanan and got the same error as before. I am trying to repair the Hyddwen Launcher but everytime I try to it crashes.

you can post your crash log inside mabinogi\appdata\Archived folder in the thread https://mabimods.net/index.php?topic=17896.msg250390 to help troubleshoot, otherwise you'll eiether have to not use kanan for awhile or switch to using nexon launcher's installer.

the problem is steam's files are slightly different then nexon's launcher or hyddwn and we're not sure which file/file's are causing kanan's runtime error.

Sorry, I mean that the Hyddwn Launcher is crashing. The game is working fine when I play through steam.

i know. as i said kanan has trouble with steam so you'll either need to not use it or switch launcher's, troubleshoot in hyddwn thread (by posting it's crash log) and or kanan's thread for a solution.

i'll need more information then that, like does it start at all, at what point does it crash, do you get an error mesaage?, otherwise you can reinstall trying other options/mods like kanan or abyss not both or uninstall it, download what mods you want manually and use uotiara.pack into the package folder from uotiara's site.

The game normally starts with the hack shield going, but installing the mod the hack shield don't appear and nothing happens. The play button on the game launcher becomes clickable.

okay you still have,'t given much information, try reinstalling with either kanan or abyss, not both, what launcher are you using also by hackshield i assume you mean nexon game security logo which is now blackcipher

Uninstalled tiara and reinstalled with just abyss, yea its the nexon game security logo. Still nothing happens after clicking play, it'll say currently in-game and then 10 seconds later it'll become clickable.

Using a older version works thought. 286.0.0.0. works and anything newer then that don't.

try turning off ExtraThreads and Debug by changing them to 0 in abyss.ini, i'm assuming it's abyss but you didn't say wither you tried with only kanan and wither it worked using loader.exe just to see if it is a abyss mod that is not working specifically on your pc or possibly an update to abyss that is causing your problem.

I'm probably missing something really basic here, but I cant seem to find out what the heck the localization string is for the hyddwn launcher. Lauching mabi as is it just runs abyss with none of the Tiara Moonshine+ improvements

Sorry if this has been asked before, But I cant find it on any search engine.

Abyss.ini has the mod DataFolder=1 enabled by default so not sure why your uotiara mods aren't working, ensure your data folder exists and your installing into the correct location (in case you have multiple mabinogi installations), also if you select mabipacker with the installer it will create uotiara.pack in the package folder which will almost guarantee the success of uotiara mods.

if you do it right the first thing you'll notice is the uotiara logo before logging in.

as for hyddwn launcher localization just type North America, the next stable version will fix this.
