Common problems:
Problem: Abyss_patchlog.txt doesn't show up and no mods are appearing ingame.

Solution: Go to dsound.ini and change Bitmap=1 to Bitmap=0

Problem: I get an error about missing mscvp100.dll.

Solution: There is none at the moment as I don't know what is causing the issue.

Any other problems that may occur, make sure you run HSUpdate.exe in your HShield folder and post the issue if you can't find the same issue after searching.

Multiclient needs a direct launcher which is uploaded below.

• Players using Steam need to put it in the same folder.

Addressing Recent Rumors and Concerns

    Hello,

    First I would like to thank everyone who has offered their support for Mabinogi through all these years. I understand that there have been many ups and downs, a lot of miscommunications, and a lot of upset players. Recently, one of the main concerns has been players stating they were banned for data mining. There have been a lot of rumors circulating about this, and accusations of Nexon trying to silence our players. We have mentioned many times that we are not banning players for what they do outside of the game. All we request is that you do not post your data mined information on the official Mabinogi forums, and if you wish to be officially acknowledged as a fansite you would need to follow certain rules.

    After making the recent posts regarding data mined information, many players have used this as an excuse for their recent bans. This has caused a lot of anger throughout the community and we would like to clear up these matters. There have also been some players who are unsure as to why they are banned, or are saying it was wrongfully done.

    Below is a list of reasons that people have been permanently banned in recent times. This list includes the reasons for banning players such as Indexu of Alexina, Ikkisuki of Ruairi, Barding of Tarlach, and Araria of Ruairi.

    Each player had at least two if not more of following violations:

    Packet editing
    Duping items
    Stacked elves
    Extensive client modification
    Multi-clienting
    Numerous counts of glitch exploitation
    Inappropriate names

    Please know that we never wish to call attention to specific players but we are doing this for the rest of the community. We want you to know that we do not wish to silence you or to ban you over trivial matters. Only when you are caught engaging in actual violations of our Terms of Use, will you be banned from the game. Again we do hope that this clears some of confusion that has been spreading on the fansites and that you all fully understand what is and is not allowed in Mabinogi.

Instructions:

• Make sure Solaris is not installed (delete any dinput8.dll, dinput8.ini, Solaris.exe) from your Mabinogi folder.
• Extract the files from Abyss.rar and place them in your Mabinogi folder.
• Run HSLaunch.exe, if you forget you will be prompted to run it when trying to log in.
• Before updating your Client when there's an update, be sure to close HSLaunch.exe

Yes. You put the extracted files in the Mabinogi folder with Client.exe in it. Common install path is (Drive letter):\Nexon\Mabinogi

when are u going to make it for windows 8

Try searching this thread, or others. I've said multiple times that it's not completely up to me as the bypass isn't available for Windows 8. So when do I plan on it? Never as of now; unless something arises for a new HackShield bypass that is Windows 8 compatible.

It may be possible that you can have conflicting software on your Mabinogi folder.
Please check for clean files on the root of the folder.
To confirm. The only patch that would not work for JP is Themida Bypass

Don't use steam version (I guess) and remove BugTrap.dll and BugTrapU.dll from client folder. I'm playing like this for a long time, but not because I had this bug - I just check what game actually needs.
I also removed steam_api64.dll, because I'm on 32bit system (game doesn't launch for me without steam_api.dll and I don't even use steam. I guess there's just a stupid check for it. so maybe it's vice versa for 64bit systems).

Having quite a bit of trouble getting abyss to work on my new desktop. Running on win7, with an asus xonar sound card. After reading through the thread, and finding that could be the issue, I assumed it would be fixed after i disabled my sound card. When that didn't work, I uninstalled it. I've tried fresh installs of mabi, even copied over a working setup from my laptop. Still not getting a patch log or anything related to abyss in game.

You could always inject it. It would be a hassle, I know, but it's not hard and might be easier than figuring out what's actually wrong. Just don't inject it too early.

Not sure. That's what I did and still have the unresponsive problem.
