Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

Evening everyone, I've been a lurker for a couple days and this is my first post asking for assistance.

I have my eye on certain mods I've found recently, but I'm unsure how to install them because their descriptions are unclear to me and I can't find the thread for them.

List:

[DDS] Succubus
http://mabimods.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item616

(Another) cooking ruler
http://mabimods.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item1183

What does it mean by "Find small sheep image (default location is 50,50)" and the version of "(Requires .NetFramework 2.0)" doesn't match my type of computer, how do I find out what type to get from windows?

Sheep/muff(F) to hebona
http://mabimods.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item1044

Transformation as a Succubus
http://mabimods.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item19

(PMG) Underwear
http://mabimods.net/index.php?topic=2005.0

I want the succubus_underwear_bss.pmg I'm not sure what file they mean I should rename, I've tried it but no luck.

Custom Target Circle Modifications Package
http://mabimods.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item1048

That's all..
most of the links don't have the thread that comes with them, so I'm unsure where to save them.

I've experimented for about a couple hours, I have very low patience for these things. At least I've calmed down now and can ask properly. I'm sure that somewhere in this forum there is a place that can answer how to install things..

I'm apologize for being this clueless, I don't wish to get yelled at, but if I can get the answers I need then, I'll try.
Thank you for reading this, not sure how fast these get answered but I'll be refreshing every 5 mins in hopes for someone help.

inb4 TL;DR  :-\

The Custom Target Circle Modifications Package, you just download and put it into your Mabinogi Folder and then data pack it, Same with DDS Succubus.

I am unsure of the cooking ruler, never used it.

The Sheep/Muffler to Hebona, you put into /Data/gfx/char/human/female/mantle.

If you're an elf with the Transformation as a Succubus you just put into your Mabinogi folder, but to replace any transformation (Pally, DK), place the file in data\gfx\char\paladin\mesh under the name you want it (Darkknight_male01_bss.pmg/Paladin_female0 1_bss.pmg/whatever) and it'll work.

The Succubus Underwear rename succubus_underwear_bss.pmg to female_default_bss.pmg and insert into /Data/gfx/char/human/female/ (I Think)

How do you Data pack something..?  :-X

I've seen that word around when I was looking at the Tiara thread, but I never bothered to ask.

There is no mantle, my path is Data/gfx/char/human/female/clothes
I had to change it to "female" not sure why it said male earlier.. does it matter if I change the file name?

I made a separate folder to save a clean version of Mabi if I mess up the original, which I did..
But the clean version doesn't  have the data folder. Should I just forget the clean version or is it necessary?

This is too much of a headache, I'm going to bed and trying again tomorrow.

When you download and use Tiara there should be a DATA Packer.exe in your Mabinogi Folder.

Just make the mantle folder in female folder.

You can have both Female and Male folders, it's just Male is for male clothes Female is for female.

You have to change the file name to the actual name of the file, or it won't work.

If you got your Data Folder from Tiara, just run Tiara again.

If you look in the guides section there are some guides for this.

Do i need a clean version of mabi or no..?

Please Cute Neko, I'm very confused by this and I'd really appreciate your help.

This is my first time getting visual mods, as you can tell, and I would really like a step-by-step guide on how to intall these.

From what I know now, it's okay to make new folders for the extractions and I need something called a data packer.

I wish I could start from scratch with my clean Mabi folder, because I've had a lot of trial and error on my original one and it's very messy. My clean one doesnt have the data folder though, so I don't know what to do. Stick with the old one or somehow fix the new one?

Have some nekos.

Bit of a rough run down here, not gonna go into major details, so sorry for leaving bits out.

Guides section for this site.  Don't bother reading all the stickies. (yeah, the other members can freak out for me saying that)  At this point, you have little knowledge on modding it sounds like, all the guides will do right now is confuse you.  Until you've had some actual hands on experience, you'd be best only reading the things to introduce you or walk you through getting mods up and running.  You can always come back and read the guides later, when you understand them better.

Tiara.  Contains a vast variety of mods, which can you pick and choose what you want.  Bit overwhelming at first, so i'd advise to just leave everything at default and get the mods working.  Read the first post for tiara of course, which is probably your first step to learning the modding.  When you get in game, you'll notice changes, this is the second part of your learning.  You can figure out what you do want or don't want, and what you don't want you'll come back and describe the mod and ask how to get rid of that feature.

After all that, you'll have formed your modding knowledge foundation.  I'll leave it at this for now, and if i'm around i'll attempt to help more if needed, or someone else will.

I am not good at the tipping step-by-step, But I can show you how on team viewer, or talk to you by chat.
But I started out like you, Only I had to self teach my self until a good friend of mine helped me out. :3
Data packer opens your package file that comes with with an update.

It also allows you to extract the Data file, and allows you to change it.

I don't think so, that's what Mabi Unpack does.

Step by step guide.

Step 1. Download this. http://mabimods.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item118
It is the Data Packer, extract it and put it into your Mabinogi Folder.

Step 2. Extract, let's say The Custom Target Circle mod. Put it into your mabinogi folder. Which Includes clicking the "data" and dragging it into your Mabinogi Folder

Step 3. Data Pack it, run the Data Packer that you put into your Mabinogi folder and run it. Click "Find" then a list of your changes will have popped up. Then click "modify"

Step 4. Close Data packer and Run Mabinogi

Other Notes:
Don't run Data Packer and Mabinogi at the same time.
You don't have to do each mod indivdually, you can do it all at once, then do Step 3.
You don't need a back up, Just run Data Packer again and click remove mods. (Someone tell me if this is right or not?)

That's right. The data packer most of us currently use automatically creates backups, which it restores when you click remove mods

The data packer was helpful, but I think I did something wrong..

I had a friend try to install the mods for me witout extracting, just clicking and dragging.
I got the target circle mod to work but not the others.
When he tried I logged on and saw my face distorted.

Random note.  Whenever mabi goes down for a scheduled update, tell data packer to remove the mods. (folder stays, but it isn't read)  This is important.
If you try to update mabinogi with data packer reading the mods, then it can mess up your files.  So always tell data packer to remove mods, before updating mabi.

I'm having trouble with the Gamyu Demon Set v2.0 by arcane

                  ===============================================
                                  [ Instructions ]
                  ===============================================
Simply put this PMG in the directory for clothes,
and rename the PMG file to whatever it is you're
going to copy this over. Usual Directory:

        C:\Nexon\Mabinogi\data\gfx\char\human\female\wear
        C:\Nexon\Mabinogi\data\gfx\char\human\male\wear

It says to rename the PMG files to the clothes it will be copying over, but I'm not sure how to write premium newbie wear (regular)..

premium_newbie_wear_(F).PMG ?

do I replace the 3 PMG file name with this?

Only rename the one you want and delete the rest. To find the name of the item you want to replace, use itemdb.xml and itemdb.english.txt. In the txt, ctrl f to find the name of the item you want to replace, next to it will be a number. In the xml, ctrl f the number to find the item's information, that will include the PMG's name.

I'm sorry, I feel dizzy.

May I get a screenshot? I think I found itemdb.xml from google, but I can't find itemdb.english.txt
It looks so strange

You found it the hard way lol.

Also on a side note please refrain from double posting. If you need to modify the post before hand. It's against the rules and some people in here can get really :censored: about it.

For future reference its easier (in my opinion) to go through it if you right click it and open it in notepad.

As for the itemdb.english.txt its in

data\_ocal\xml\

Here it is.

http://mabimods.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item33

It's a .rar file so just use any un-rar programs 7zip, winrar, whatever.

Put it where ever you want.

Load up the program then click the file drop down menu and click open.
Go to the mabinogi folder and then the package folder.
Best bet is to select the newest .pack file cause it will be the most recently updated, in my case it was the 101_to_102.pack
Load that up an then you should have the stuff pop up on the side bar. For that refer to my previous screenshot.
This is how we get all the files for editing or etc.

I downloaded the Mabiunpack but I seem to be missing _ocal

To end my misery, I'd like to request the name for the glow in the dark muffler  :'( the irreparable one.
I couldn't find it on the list myself..
That's really all I need for now
