News

Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

I feel like it'd be easier to say it counts down for each update.

As in, it looks to the highest number and take all files, then goes down a number, takes any files it missed the first time, repeat until all files found.

So any files in the lower numbered packs would likely be old files no longer used by the game.

Yeah, that is much simpler.  I just didn't know how to word it. XD

I just prefer to always run from a full pack.

You can attempt that, but like it's been pointed out that's the oldest file.  Meaning expect w/e you pull to be outdated, causing glitches in the game or flat out crashing you.  Others may think differently, but i'll flat out say that i have no interest in helping someone if they stubbornly proceed on that path.  There's nothing to be gained from it, and unwilling to follow proper procedures but still requesting help.....

Not always. As I said, I prefer to run with full packs instead of a bunch of partial packs. So after an update, I'll go and get the full pack for that version. Right now I'm running 207 full.

Not everyone has the ability to do this though, even though it's infinitely easier to manage in the long run.

Download speeds  for the average free2play gamer tends to be disgustingly low, and those internet plans also tend to have painfully small download caps.

Gotta say though, I might just finally give in and use power patcher for the first time ever, to set this up.  I'm tired of hunting through packs.

Is there anywhere I can download an updated skillinfo.xml?

I've been told from various websites to go to data/db/skill folder to find skillinfo.xml, but there is no such folder. I've installed Tiara for the data folder and also downloaded the stand-alone data folder, but the closest file I've found to skillinfo.xml is skillinfo.english.txt in the data/xml folder. This doesn't have the correct skill IDs for use in xml AI files though.
I have searched Google and MM for skillinfo.xml files, but the file links on MM are a few years old and don't seem to work, whilst the ones I found on Google are outdated, but still useful for earlier released skills.

Might be a stretch, but is there a database for all the commands and conditions used in AI files? Things like cmd name="prepare_and_use_all_stacks".

Read the thread your posting in.

In a moment I'll be removing all the clutter that's just happened, so it shouldn't be as hidden, the last question here is what you need to be doing.  It'll be a few posts above, about mabi unpack and extracting.  This is what you will be using to get skillinfo.xml

Also, to those involved in what was just deleted here, consider this your warning. I do not want to see more of it.

Does anyone know or have a list of foreign modding sites? Or blogs of mabi players/modders that play on other servers?
I'm interested in seeing what texture and/or sound packs they have to offer compared to what's here.
I haven't had much luck on my searches.

Odd question but is there a reason that giant full swing cutscene wont end? while using both abyss and tiara with trans cutscene skip enabled on mabi

Try disabling the skill cutscene.

Find the file that contains these words.
Remove those words from the file.

And you can't make your pets fly faster. They can only change altitudes faster.

What parts of skillinfo.xml were edited when people used to make healing/first aid go through walls? I hear it was something to do with coordinates like XYZ but I have no idea what to do with that information.

Skill.dll. Not that it works anymore.

Or was it range? No, that was for long-distance? Not that either work anymore.

I mean editing inside of the skillinfo.xml file. Like when changing "TargetRange=1500" to "TargetRange=99999" then we get something like infinite range, but how would I make the said skill attack through walls?

Again, that wouldn't be a skillinfo edit. That would be a Skill.dll edit.

You won't find this file because it's now packed into the client. In other words, the only way you can make this edit is through memory mods. GLHF.
But for what reason are you trying to achieve this mod if it no longer works?

Because just as first aid and healing were able to be edited this way I was able to modify doppelganger the same way (infinite range), but I'm still unable to allow it to go through walls even though I've seen it happen recently

Well then, good luck editing it.

Healing and First Aid is patched server sidedbelieve the sames goes for obstacle checking. Would look into it later.
I wouldn't comment about shadow bunshi. But since Ive stopped playing mabinogi 2015, yes you can inf range with bunshi because it's devcat"s laziest skill ever made. You can bypass the obstacles check as well via memory mod. The same can go for Kunai Storm"s range. Now that I said that out, here comes a chance for the nexon QA staff to patch it up (as if, hah¡)

I was unable to modify kunai storm when I tried earlier, but I give up on that. Memory modification seems a bit over my head but if there's a guide anywhere on it I'd like to look into it.

Re: General Question Thread

Memory modification is such a complex skill to learn it becomes difficult to explain in simplier terms. The only thing I would suggest is googling. Tons and tons of googling.

The subject you want to look into is asm x86 reverse engineering for games.
Look into some s4 league or maplestory hacks to learn how they work.

I can put in my prototype guide on reverse engineering the game when I go home.
