Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

Saving other 3d filetypes as .pmgs?
« on: January 17, 2011, 04:20:44 pm »
Is it possible? What I want to do is convert some models from the TES4: Oblivion modding community from .nif to .pmg so I can use them in mabi, but I can't seem to find any scripts to even open .pmgs in blender, much less convert .nifs into them. I do have a bunch of scripts for blender that can import and export a lot of different filetypes, but .pmg isn't one, and so I ask if anyone actually knows of a script that can or at least some other way to turn .nifs into .pmgs.

Thanks.

First you would have to export the nif model as an 'obj' model, through a nif model viewer, i like to use a program called NifSkope, google it.

Load up your model through NifSkope and export it as an obj.

Open up your Obj model with a program called Metasequoia

Do the whole modeling process, name parts, scale, reposition and such.

Save your new model to a mqo file

Use Yukoshoo's mqo-pmg tools for conversion from mqo to pmg (drag the framework and the model onto the converter)

Load up your PMG Editor,  check for errors, load up PMG Viewer, check for errors.

Place your new pmg model into the data folder path

Good Luck, I use this method for creating models that i have previously made for oblivion or models that i have extracted.

Thanks for the info! This is perfect. Now to turn Mabinogi into Oblivion!

Well, just kidding...
mostly.

I got Metasequoia, but just to verify, is this link a legitimate mqo2pmg download?

AVG isn't picking up anything harmful but I just want to be sure.

Should run it through virustotal.com first.

Well it wouldn't run anyway. Just crashed when I opened it.
Anyone got another download for mqo2pmg?

when using mqo2pmg open cmd.exe and goto the folder with the frm and the mqo file
type mqo2pmg mqofilename frameworkname
And it should create a good pmg right there.
