I WAS going to make a ring, but I ended up buying one instead. I'm going to use it as an example and make just like it, but with a different design.

This is what I got (not mine, googled an image...);

Are you going to a acid etching, Or hand etching with the design?

By hand, using the same basic pattern as the one I bought, doing the roman numerals... The only issue will be spacing them just right, since I'll be doing it with hand tools and an ultra fine felt tip marker.

I don't think I could do anything much more complex with the tools I have.

I can make rings with the lathe but with no designs. Most work I was given that was round were long and were for handles and parts for cars and such.

I'll be doing it on a lathe, actually. I lack a vice.
Just... The lathe won't be running, simply using it to hold and rotate the piece.

What lathe are you using? I know you can get away with not using a vice on some kinds.

You must at least have a tape measure for measuring the spacing?

I can not. It's too difficult to hold both it and the camera, since I can only hold the moose certain ways. It's not solid.

Ahh, well, I would like to see it standing. But it looks good so far.
It's funny, there's actually a moose candle holder around here somewhere, though it's copper I believe.
