It shouldn't really change anything.. unless they stop allowing you to manually log in and start requiring the hashed login for some stupid reason, but I doubt it.

Notice the fact that they specify "Mabinogi.exe" in that article. This is actually the old standard launcher, not the client itself (Client.exe). They are using the term "direct launch" incorrectly, so as mentioned, we should be fine unless they royally mess up the client itself.

Any of those other tools.  All use Client.exe.
That's how they work.
All of our methods bypass the Mabinogi.exe launcher.

The annoying part however.
Mabinogi.exe is the patching system as well.
So you'll need to power patch, or use their new launching system to update your game.
Assuming you've patch however... Direct launch will still be fine.
Those using Mabinogi.exe to launch normally... May just need to grab, or create a client.exe launch.
MabiMods.net has several methods, and guides.  Plus Blade has his directlaunch tool on his Abyss site.

This may need verifying, but from what I've noticed they may have stopped putting patch files to the server that old launcher was (and powerpatcher is) using.

patch.txt has been updated, but directory for 248 doesn't even exist.

I got a little excited that PowerPatcher would continue being useful given that it worked on getting patched to R247; however, with R248 release today, I'm getting a "Can't patch from 0 to 248" message with PowerPatcher.
