Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

Linux and Mabi
« on: July 25, 2015, 01:47:48 am »
I'm going to rehash old topics while everything is installing on my new pc. Since just about every thread I've seen concerning Linux and mabi are dating back 5 years ago, I'd just like to take the time and ask if anything has changed since then. Is Wine the best way to run Mabi, or is there a more effective way now? Any response is helpful, thanks.

From what a friend told me who runs Mabi via WINE on one of her installs, it runs just fine, however, HackShield requires two certain Microsoft DLLs in order to run properly. (I didn't ask for the names of them when she did tell me about this several weeks ago)

If you need to know, I can PM you her name.

I'm surprised hackshield would run under wine, given that it runs kernel mode code

WINE under 1.7  still has the Garbage rating under Trusty Tahr, 1.6 is much worse.
Last I checked the only distro to get a gold rating was Red Hat.
Last time I tried, Mono prevented mabi from running and crashed hackshield.
I havent tried with the new content, but I wont be surprised if the rating didnt change.

Well, from what she said, she was using one of the snapshots. Like said before, though, it requires two certain DLLs in which I haven't obtained the names of and most likely will not.

I'll PM you her name so you can go discuss it with her if you feel inclined to.
