News

Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

I also see that you have the Earth appearing at night, while mine only appears in the day hours. Did you change it yourself? I'd like to do that too! (Feels like a downright copycat.)
I downloaded a different version from his site (64x I think) so it could be different. There shouldn't be though. Also keep note that some mods can change the night/daytime in Mabi such as Tiara(Always Noon) and Abyss(Anytime). I'll pm you the link than and see if its any different.

Wow. x.x "1 day left" Is the time it says it'll take to download this file. I downloaded mabi in less than an hour. This is crazy. :(

Use the speedyshare links I provided. The original ones are slow. It's on the OP, just scroll down and make sure to read information.

So um... will it lag a lot more than before?

Depends on the specs and graphic handling of the pc. Most people wouldn't lag from the graphics because of the graphic it can handle in Mabi already. Others might experience a more or to little no lags. It really depends if the pc can handle the graphics.

I looked at the files and to me, it looks like they have simply been upscaled and some sort of filter applied to them making a few of them look even worse than normal. While there are a few that look okay, the majority of them actually look worse (the obvious offenders being the title emblems which lose a lot of detail).

No need to downgrade someones effort on trying to upscale Mabi. They actually used Topaz Vivacity plugin for Photoshop to filter the .dds files. They saw that Dalbee's HD mods where private, so decided to do it themselves. http://www.yydzh.com/read.php?tid=1370588&page=1&toread=1  <- Even a tutorial on how to do it yourself. <.<

so when I tried to install all of these unpacked, it seems like some of the monster ones overlap. I think the monster HD pack is actually their standard res.

Have you tried not unpacking them?
*Keep them as pack files
*make a folder in your package folder called HD
*Place the HD packs inside there, remnamed to english and as well as read only
*Finish?

It's criticism towards the mod. I'm pointing out the things I notice from it. I'm not saying it's a bad mod, simply that it's flawed in some aspects.

Sometimes it's better to say nothing.

You can find faults in many things.  Even when it's harsh, some people will appreciate it when you point out where they can improve and how.

I looked at the files and to me, it looks like they have simply been upscaled and some sort of filter applied to them making a few of them look even worse than normal. While there are a few that look okay, the majority of them actually look worse (the obvious offenders being the title emblems which lose a lot of detail).

That however, whether criticism or not, is needlessly rude.  We all have our own tastes when playing games, whether it be graphics or game-style.  If you don't like a texture pack being released, you can just not use it.  If you have some interest in it, but there are key problems steering you away, you can either point out, in a polite manner preferably, what you dislike and why as opposed to just saying it looks horrible or worse than the original.  There are also messages if you're afraid of someone else taking offense at what might be said.

There is no icon for the Hunting or Transformation collection diaries.

Sorry for not replying (was busy with college preparations)so soon. This was created before transformation diary was in Taiwan(or China?) mabi so that could be the problem. I'll try looking for the updated version of the HD Mabi.

If you're unable to find it, I can always rip the original ones and attempt to upscale it myself.

One other side note: Is anyone else having problems with the Crystal Deer (and the antler headgear) not displaying properly?

Same problem. Crystal deer seems to be missing some textures.

Does anyone else have the problem of the game staying daytime with this mod? I've set the time to midnight which made the sky dark but the area remained lit.

Updated the skill icons missing from G18

(Gun skills and collection icons)

The re-added icons are not in HD, and this is a .pack file, so read the OP for instructions.

I might release a V2 later with HD versions.

Crystal Deer patch coming later.

Edit: Don't download, I messed up the skills icons. Fix coming

Update: That *should* fix it, but I don't have time to test. I think the version number was lower than the HDSkillIcons.pack, because the collection part worked fine.

Update2: Attached datapacker version.

Thanks for updating, Choco. The data file doesn't include the gunner skill update, but the .pack file does.
Also, the talent icon for gunner needs to be added in.
And at some point, new pet icons need to be added in, such as the Pegasus, Nimbus, etc.

Yikes, I think I'll be better off reconstructing the entire hd mod, instead of making little patches.

I'm getting a new computer soon, when I do that will be my first project.

I honestly wouldn't use any parts that involve terrain or could interfere with new areas at all.
