I know if I ask this, everyone will hate me but I'm really Lost. And i know there's "Guides" but that just made it worse... I'm trying to figure out how you actually get these mods to work once you've downloaded them. I've gone through a few of the guides which all show the use of a billion different "programs" and none of them/the links are even working. i just want a SIMPLE explanation as to "HOW do I use this in the game?" I've seen the least of such things like weapon mods and downloaded a few but... how do I run them? Please help.. without getting super high tech nerd on me. X,x I mean us kids play Mabi so.. surely there is a simply way to do this if so many children are. thank you in Advance and I'm sorry if this is annoying but I'd like to fix my game up the way i like just as much as everyone else :/
C:/Nexon/Mabinogi - When i say put in the mabinogi folder, then it means you put in that directory unless you installed mabinogi somewhere else. I'll supply some files, download them and there's only a few simple steps you really need to follow.
First, you need Data packer. This goes in the mabinogi folder. The recommended one is:
Data Packer 1.4 - Written by PlonecakesNext up, i'll give you a simple mod just to see if you can get it working. All this mod does, is change the loading bar from blue to green on the loading screens. Ie, when you start the game or switch areas.
Green Loading Bar1. To use it, you make the following folders, unless they already exist, and put the file
loading_bar_color.dds in the folders. Go to your mabinogi folder and create folders
data, then open the folder. Inside data, create
gfx and open it. Inside gfx, create
gui and open it. Put your loading bar color in here.
2 Now that you have the file where it goes, open up Data Packer, which is in your mabinogi folder, and tell it to
Find. If you put your mod where i instructed, then the data packer should show some technical info. You don't need to worry about this for now, so click
Modify button and you are done.
Start your game up and when it goes to the loading screen (not the log-in screen but the actual loading screen) your loading bar should now be green instead of blue. If you ever want to get rid of the mod just go back into your
data/gfx/gui, which is where you placed the mod, and delete it from there. Now open Data Packer and
Find mods, when it's done loading hit
Modify and it will remove the mod. If you don't do both steps, and only do one, then the mod will still exist in the game.
After you play with this or other mods some, then i'd recommend you go back over the guides and ask more questions as needed. This will give you a more in-depth understanding of things, so when errors or crashes happen, you can tell what they are/why they happened and you'll eventually be able to fix them within 5 mins tops most of the time.
