You don't necessarily hafta have an ESL.clean. Problems could have multiple causes or different roots.

The error fix regarding ESL, is an old and outdated issue.

People however, are just stupid and keep using old mods that are clearly stated as broken, and post their stupidity whining it won't work, and demanding we fix it.

For this reason, I will not remove any error without a good enough reason, because I'm positive stupidity will lead some moron to getting that error.

I just took the most common errors to put in here, since I'm not expecting those who already know what their doing, to read this.




If you do get an error however, and you are reading this, for error fixes.

Post the error code, post callstacks, post logs, post screenshots, and be sure to include what mods your trying to use, and what you've done thus far to make them work.  You will get a reply within 1-3 hours usually.

What NOT do to; posting saying mods don't work, posting saying a fix doesn't work, asking for help on something I've already written here in the guide (seriously people, READ the darn guide before you post), demand someone fix your mods, being Samsung.  You will be told off, and chances of getting helped are very low.


Simply put, you're on my guide, you're posting on it. SO READ THE FREAKING GUIDE BEFORE YOU DO SO!
Don't tell me your mods don't work, PROVE IT! I want to see error codes, I want screenshots, I want callstacks, anything you have to show me, show me it, AND INCLUDE WHAT MODS AND WHAT YOU DID!
Don't tell me an error fix doesn't work, correct me about me, go search the error code, find the error fix compilation, whatever, don't tell me I'm wrong, correct me, show me what the REAL fix is.

Don't be Samsung.  Self explanatory.

I just thought of an idea about helping to prevent problems caused by messed up files!

Making a Backup
Before you start to mod or add mods to your Mabinogi, I suggest that you create a backup 'Mabinogi' for your convenience so that when you mess up, you can fix it with a simple copy and paste.
Steps used to make sure you never get errors:
1. Make sure you have a completely clean and updated Mabinogi folder. E.g. Clean install or Remove all mods.
2. Copy (CTRL+C) your clean Mabinogi folder and paste (CTRL+V) it in a different location such as in 'My Documents'.
3. Rename it to something which you'll remember as being a clean Mabinogi. I named mine 'Original Components', but you can just call it 'Clean Mabinogi'.
4. Put mods back into your original Mabinogi folder (Default should be C:\Nexon\Mabinogi) and then you can play a modded Mabinogi whenever you want.
5. Whenever there's an update for Mabinogi, open the 'Clean Mabinogi' from your Documents and let the launcher update for you. If you didn't know there was an update and you opened your modded Mabinogi, have no fear, just Close the launcher and open the 'Clean Mabinogi' and let it update for you.
6. Once the launcher has finished updating for your 'Clean Mabinogi', go into the folder and click on the tab 'Date Modified' so that it will list the files from top to bottom (starting with folders, then files) in order of Date Modified. Copy all files and folders which have been modified in the last 7 days. Paste ALL of these files and folders into your Modded Mabinogi folder, replacing anything it asks.

This should work for all non-game-breaking mod packs to keep your mods. Unless of course, the patcher functions are broken, then that's not a problem with your own files. Also, if you're using Unofficial Tiara, you'll need to update to the newest version since your Data folder will most likely be outdated each update.

I happen to be one of those idiots... I did that to make a "quick help" post which apparently was dumb and now I have no clue what those topics are and can't find them. I tried using this guide to fix my problem and it didn't work. But the biggest reason why I did what I did is because I'm using a mod pack that's NOT on the forum... along with MNG can someone point me to the other MUST READ topics? Because I've been looking for like 45 minutes and this is the only one that looked like it could have helped but didn't. I've been modding since G3 but I'm fairly new to the whole data pack modding stuff.. So please forgive me if I'm not used to everything... so just please point me over to the stuff I need to read... sorry if I made myself look stupid... I'm not used to the forum at all. (My mods wer'e working fine I know how to mod. It's just something I did with the data packer screwed it up and I can't find anywhere on the forum to fix it)

You are wrong I'm afraid. I followed the guide in this very topic and nothing was solved. The only thing that OBVIOUSLY will work is removing the data packer files and deleting data folder. Unfortunately, as I said, I have another mod pack NOT from mabipake.. I don't even know what that is.... You are correct that YES I didn't read before I posted. So now all I ask is for someone to figure out how I fix the mods without losing my other compilation and such. I admit to my idiocy yes.

So if I could ask you we take this to PM and maybe you can help me I'd really appreciate it! ^^ because the other topics have not solved my problem unfortunately.

Well. I am using a mod pack that basically changes the UI of the game, gives a bunch of kingdomhearts related PMG mods, changes in-game music, and a number of other things xml related,etc. and I am using MNG along with the data packer. The Proffessor got my MNG to work not myself. So that's all I really have, never downloaded anything else but those things.

What caused the problems was me deciding 2 days ago to click "Look for new mods" in data packer, than click "modify." the files I currently had at the time worked fine, so whatever it added screwed everything up and that's what I'm trying to figure out, what did I add that messed it up?

After reading, my question is this. Why do I even have data packer? it seems MNG doesnt even NEED it. But here's my concern. Deleting it will take away all of my alternate compilation mods seeing how alot are data folder files. So my question is, judging from reading that.. Deleting data packer won't affect MNG at all? and if that's the case if I delete it will I be forced to download this pack again? I can do it just it takes like 45 minutes to finish downloading... I just need to know if not having Data Packer will affect me whatsoever. The Proffessor had me download it, MNG, and Frontend... So I'm like extremely lost why I needed frotend and data packer...

Well. He told me to read and lookie there. DATA PACKER IS OPTIONAL. That's why I said that. I've read and performed alot of these things and nothing has fixed my problem.
