Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

cuz by compiling jap you can add some cool stuff to it as well... then again that won't happen with half of the people on here
The "community" as it may be referred to has hit the toilet and been flushed permanently it seems.. sites like this and epvp are overrun with people too lazy to read or even search for a solution. I know that it's not any one person's fault but this is an issue that needs to be addressed, whether it be by an overhaul or just the complete disbursement of people. I am sick of answering the same questions over and over again. it's very disappointing to do. I come here and look at the newest posts and its mostly "I can't get mng's thread delay time right" or "how do I make X mod work" when there is a guide in the thread's op and answered about 39 times in as many pages. This site is headed down the path that lemu went down, it's depressing. Until the community takes a turn for the better I am not going to offer any more help. I'm going to focus on myself and my site. I will still lurk though...

it's doable. not many will... the source was released and a compiled version wasn't added for a while to make people actually do work to compile it instead of taking things like this for granted

This is exactly what it was intended for :)
But yeah, kota won't always be kind enuf to help compile it together for instant use. So I added the compiling guide, though it doesn't work for me since I'm still getting those buggy compiling errors even though the settings are all right...

Edit: Playtime, you needa modify the OP so noobies know what solutions are for what errors.
And I mean simple ones like...pleione engine doesn't finish loading crash = Update Data Folder. And there's also different solutions needed for fixing some stuff now from r80 to r81 which isn't included in your guides.

I'll add some of the most common problems later on, once I get home.  It will be a very short list of errors/fixes, trying to keep this from getting bigger.

Suggestions:
Make headings for each section (patchers, fixing mods, data folder), should make it alot more easily readable.

First, here's a guide I just typed up for merging JAP and MNG:
Merging JAP and MNG:
1. Download MNG 4.0.3b from the link or attachments here. http://mabimods.net/index.php/topic,9221.0.html
2. Find the folder for the version of Operating System you have e.g. Windows 7, or XP or Vista. (Pre-Windows 7 includes Vista)
3. Make sure MNG is a configuration setting file (otherwise known as .ini)
4. Open MNG.ini and change all the settings you want on. (This means replacing "= 0" with "= 1") Keep in mind that ShowFoodQuality should be kept at "= 0" or you'll crash.
5. Save (CTRL+S) and close MNG.ini
6. Go to (top left corner) File -> folder options -> View 'tab'. Look for the function which 'Hides known extensions for file types' (not exact wording) Make sure it's turned off. Now close the folder options.
7. Rename the file 'dbghelp.dll' to 'dbghelp.dl_'
8. Now Cut/Copy all 3 files into your Mabinogi folder. (Default is C:\Nexon\Mabinogi\)
9. Now download JAP v1.2-1 Binary from http://mabimods.net/index.php/topic,8492.0.html
10. Extract files out using programs such as WinRAR or similar.
11. Cut/Copy all the extracted files EXCEPT 'dbghelp.dl_' into your Mabinogi folder. (Default is C:\Nexon\Mabinogi\)
Now you're done.

Now I can't be bothered redoing things to get errors, but I'll just list some you can add if you remember their name.
- Pleione Engine Loading crash (Solution: Update data folder e.g. UO Tiara)
- MNG crashing - Authorisation error (I think the solution was increase Thread_Delay?)
- MNG crashing - memory modification error (I think the solution was decrease Thread_Delay?)
- MNG crashing - kernel32.dll error (Solution1: Download and use other version of MNG. Solution2: Uninstall Mabinogi, download/install r81 Mabinogi, let the launcher update)

Edit: Updated the guide to say download JAP 1.2-1
Also, there are currently some bugs with CRC, RemoveStackTime, others(?) in JAP v1.2-1, If you use v1.2 there should be no problems...i guess?

Tell them to download 1.2-1 now. And also, a more organised way is to rename MNG to MNG.dll and put it in the EarlyHooks dir

Hi, I did exactly this on a newly re-installed version of mabinogi, I got in fine, got to the character selection screen, and then once mabi loaded, I got a 0x00010705 error. Searched it up and apparently it's caused by old .dll's... I don't really understand this because the only dll's i've put in are the latest JAP and MNG ones. Now when I try to run mabi again, I just get a Client.exe crash. Any fix for this?
