Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

Am I truly the last one remaining that actually likes the data packer? :(
No.  I prefer it myself normally, but not when I work files or work on others' PCs lately.  I'm not a fan of it lately due to people misusing it.  Some out there bork their files when they update the client when they forget to remove the mods before updating. =/

I just make .pack files. More convenient.

Well, i don't care for it.

1) Abyss Data Folder
2) Logue's Data Packer
3) W/e the other datapacker was

I forget who created the one that's the most widely known packer, i think, but it's my least favorite method atm.

I like it, but enabling the data folder is more convenient for testing.

IIRC you should have found and removed in packer before deleting the files.

Also if you use Abyss there's no need for data packer.

If restoring the files and then finding/removing again doesn't fix it... reinstall mabi or do something else to get clean packs, sorry.  And then start using Abyss so you don't need to mess with data packer.
I've used abyss for a while but I never knew there was a way to modify the /data/ folder through it. Can you tell me the way to do this? I'm sorry for all of the questions just don't want to mess up

It doesn't modify your data folder. It simply forces mabi to use what's in it,

Abyss doesn't modify the data folder, it makes the client read whatever is in the "data" folder in the "Mabinogi" folder so you can just put mods there and don't have to use a packer to change your data mods.

To use it, make sure the feature is turned on in Abyss.ini and follow these steps:
Step 1: dump your data mods into Mabinogi\data.
Step 2: play.

Thank you all for the answers, I eventually fixed the problem. Just ONE more question I swear  ;D

I'm unable to use slash commands when I add in tiara. Is there a conflicting xml file or something that I can delete to fix this?

Make sure the option for slash commands is turned on in abyss.ini.

All slash commands, or just some of them?

I've only tried /MoveToSameChannel and /housing, and /housing doesn't seem to work while /MoveToSameChannel does (/housing is also the one that I would like to have working.)

When I type the command in and press enter it just stays in the chat box instead of being delivered

Ah, I have the same problem. Opening the housing board the old fashioned way or toggling partyboardswap in the rightclick menu gets it working for a while for me.

Is there a way to open the party board from anywhere in that case? like a slash command?

There's a button for the party board in the bottom left corner of the regular party creation window, but you don't actually have to open the housing window to get the /housing command to work if you toggle partyboardswap to fix it.

Well, I'm wondering if there would be anyway to increase applicable draw distance, or force it to a certain length. Because for some reason something broke and mine has been halved, like that darn buggy option in the client.

Even the standard view distance is fading out, and I haven't been able to figure out why. I normally am able to zoom out to about 6000 and still see the entire sheep mark, but thats not possible now. I also can't seem to find the other thread that spoke on this issue either which is a pain.

Feh, I aint like using CE, but guess It'll be what I hafta deal with fer now. Using what was explained in the old magenta+depth of field thread. Time to hope my mabi doesn't fry.

Does anyone know why minimizing the client sometimes causes that grey screen bug? Also, is there any way to recover from that without restarting the client?

I believe it was display drivers. And afaik, no.

I haven't had that issue in a long, long time, though.

I used to have the issue but haven't in a long time either, now that I think about it.

EDIT: Eh yeah probably drivers, I can't think of anything else since I'm using the same OS/machine.

Just got windows 10, Mabi freezes and becomes not responsive when I put in my info and click log in. Any solutions? or is this because of windows 10?

MabiUnpack gives me an outdated file, like for example if i extract skillinfo.xml there are no ninja skills within. My Mabi runs perfectly I'm just unable to edit any xmls inside the .packs because of this

Extract the correct .pack file.

Might wanna point to a guide or more info than that, cuz that's relatively vague if he don't know which pack file to grab to begin with.

Outdated file does mean you have the wrong pack.  Think of it this way, mabi counts up for each update.  First pack, is your XXX full pack.  After that you have XX1_to_XX2.pack.  Basically it'll count up each pack, the bigger the number, the more recent it is.  It works this way with a lot of programs btw, not just the .pack files, so you might keep that in mind for the future.  If you extract from the largest number, you should have the current version.

If you open the largest number, and there's no skillinfo.xml, or w/e file you are looking for, then you want to open the next biggest pack.  So if 206 to 207 is the biggest, there's no skillinfo, then you want 205 to 206, or just XXX to 206.  The numbers will change depending on how often you update/play the game, and sometimes nexon will just combine two pack files into one, and do something like 200 to 202 pack, even if you don't miss an update.  The last number, after the to, is what you're looking at though, that's the important one.

I feel like it'd be easier to say it counts down for each update.

As in, it looks to the highest number and take all files, then goes down a number, takes any files it missed the first time, repeat until all files found.

So any files in the lower numbered packs would likely be old files no longer used by the game.
