Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

First thing I blame in almost every case is outdated xmls ('cause they cause countless issues), so try it without those.

I'm fairly new to mabi modding (I've only done things like changing the music ingame), but I recently thought of something that would be neat, and I'm wondering if anyone can offer some insight if it's at all possible.

I've google searched as well as searched this form to see if anyone's asked this before, and both search engines gave me nothing, so I apologize in advance if someone's already asked this.

I'm curious if there's a way you can edit the names of items? (More specifically weapons)
Let's say for example; I wielded a lance as one of my endgame weapons. It's fully ranked, upgraded, and enchanted. I want to have it's own custom name like "The Penetrator", so that when I hover my cursor over the lance it won't read "Knight Lance blah, blah, yada, yada~" and instead have the custom name.

The mod/edit would be purely client side. I am not looking to make it so other players can see it's name, just purely on my side.
I know it's possible to have custom names for specific weapons (Ego Weapons), but I'm not sure how I could apply this to other items (if possible).

Any help would be greatly appreciated,  :)

Itemdb.xml, find the file and rename it. Data pack it. Profit??
Though anyone else that has the same items will be named the same ironically but they won't see it.

I'm sure I can be able to find out the smaller tidbits (like re-packing it) myself.


That's fine if everyone else's weapons say that, I just want my blades to seem more "Personalized".
(Really, mabi should develop a "rename tool" or something. I'm sure more than a handful of players would like that, and it'd offer some extra profit for them.)

P.S.

I don't suppose then it's possible to modify/rename two of the same type of swords with different names then, right?
(Like dual wielding celtic swords, with each celtic having their own unique name.)

I mean, you could edit two different weapons into the same weapon PMG, but rename them differently, but I don't think that's what you had in mind.

Yeah, not quite.  :P
Aside from my lance, I also dual wield two of the same sword (both s ranked, enchanted, etc). I like the idea of both swords having their own unique identity (they look different) and I thought it'd be cool to have them each with their own unique name as well.

But since they are seen as the same model/id, I don't think would be possible.

Now, it's been a LONG time (several years) since I've played, but don't the special upgrades show as text on the weapons, along with enchants? You could very well just edit that text, and make the weapon itself something vague like "sword"

Making you able to do something like, Sword of Darkness, and Sword of Light, in either hand.

I know what it does and how to do it, and that 48 works better than 56 for me, but i don't know why it actually helps this much even when nagling is already off. Do isps treat smaller packets differently or something?

"Would you rather hand a cashier a $20 and wait for your change? Or hand her exact change and be on your way?
Unless you need your change for another reason, you'd probably want to toss the exact and head out right away.

Your PC isn't too keen on waiting for it either."

I also usually deal with idiots, and actually just copy and pasted that from somewhere... It may not be entirely true, but it's not entirely wrong either lol...
Especially when the people I usually deal with don't plan on ever turning it off, and just dealing with the other problems it may cause, just so they don't have to touch it again for mabi to be quicker.

Does anyone besides the developers know what the "Taste_..." stats in itemdb.xml are for?
Are they involved in G2's npc matchmaking quest? Do they affect how easily secret shops get unlocked? Do some monsters aggro differently if you get enough of one of these stats? Does the Rabbie solo boss decide what to ramble about based on them?

How can I get Urgent Shot to fire instantly when there's a target?

Already tried copying over the SkillType, TriggerType, TargetPreparedType, and ProcessTargetType values from skills that do this (most of fighter, bullet slide), but none of them made a difference. Even tried adding in ProcessLock="unlock(attack)" , nothing.

Edit: Did this thing and it kinda works.
Anyone know how to make autocombat not crap on your controls while it's waiting for the event?
When I remove the rest of the auto-junk it won't let me begin aiming or fire stackable skills like magic or alchemy.

I was wondering if there is a way to make a Shyllien Ecology gathering bot I can get my balloon event script to work some what but it kind of wigs out when I put the image of the area to gather from and picking up the items with the image of the items names. does any one know if there is something like this already or anyone point me in the right direction because I have done my home work and I cant find anything on the net about any type of Shyllien Ecology unless ppl have never uploaded it to download and Google does not find it

Unless you just want to bot the first floor's crappy plants, you won't be able to make a fully functioning bot since there are monsters all around and failures will knock you back.

Does anyone have any effect removal mods? Such as the popups that happen for ranking skills up (at least removing all the flashy full screen effects and such). These severely lag my PC when they happen and it's pretty annoying to freeze. Summoning my pet's also seem to lag me.

Basically, any effect removal mods I for whatever reason didn't notice. I already use completely minimize (w/ Abyss for complete model removal) and Mini Effects in the game's options. I have all my settings for performance.. Of course nothing can make my GPU better but I'd like to reduce the strain on it. I've limited my FPS to 30 (since sometimes it can get to 70 in certain areas and overheat) and that's helped a lot in keeping cool. But doesn't change the effects that severely drop my FPS..

Try mini effects. Best mod ever.
