News

Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

Ugh...
Does that Jinsu Nogi v229 thing in the files still work, because i get a Hackshield error and wonder if its only me... I disabled tiara and it still didn't work, so just asking.

This is a newbie question~ however, should we be installing a clean client once server is up? After all, there's an interface change and all.. ^^;

just update uo tiara and remove data folder when asked; i will have it uploaded once i test it in game for bugs.
if you use solaris 64-bit you may need to disable UseDataFolder=0 in dinput.ini
with data packer make sure mods are removed first before applying the latest mods.
for frontend you'll want to use clean mode.

no need for a clean client since mods work ;p

So, I've been googling it like crazy, but I can't seem to find a mod for puppet skins. Basically, I want to replace the vine puppet skins (that you get from Huw's quest) with the Master Pierrot/Master Colossus skins (so I don't need to blow MORE money on gachas). Can anyone help me out with that?

Search for a guide on how to unpack mabi/pmg swap in this site and get your hands on a data packer. You should be able to find it once you know the basics.

Well, I had a friend who tried that. The problem was, he couldn't find out where the puppets were, and when he tried to open the newest file (which is apparently enormous), it would just spit out an error at him in korean. Any advice on that?

The puppets are in 121 and classified as monsters like all nonplayers/pets. As for why you get that error, I'm not sure which unpackaging tool is made by koreans. Was it "MabiPackage Tool"? If so then it was Chinese. As for trying to open the newest update, I'd suggest you try another unpackaging tool and see if it works or post the error message here (a screenshot would suffice).

Well, after re-trying it, I was able to unpack the file. However, I ran into a different problem. Apparently, the master colossus has an entirely different .frm from the other colossi; the .frm is marionette_b4step_framework.frm, whereas the normal colossus frame is just marionette_b-framework.frm. I tried doing a basic .pmg swap, and also tried to swap the .frms of the master colossus and the regular colossus (the separate .frm for the master colossus seems to be related to its special gauntlets, judging from the .pmg viewer). I have a modded client through frontend, and I put the swapped meshes/.frms in the mabinogi->data->gfx->char->monster->mesh (I then created a folder for the .frms and meshes called marionette, and stuck the files in there). I then repacked the client, and ran the game...but I didn't notice any change. When I equipped the vine marionette, the vine marionette came up (swapping the .pmgs should've brought up the master colossus, but nothing happened). Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong, there?

Did you remember to run datapacker or make a new pack file?

Check data/db/charactercondition.xml.  Think that's right anyways.  I believe you also have enemies/players go red when in deadly, removing that file will also remove this feature.  If you want further help on this matter, place a clear request and someone will undoubtedly help.

Yeah, I ran datapacker, but it doesn't look like I made a new pack file...What do I need to name it? I'm a little fuzzy on the actual re-packing part of the modding process.

To make your own packs you need to use Mabipacker. (To use custom packs you need to mod your client or use a custom made Mabinogi.exe like the stickied ones in the client section.) Though if data packing doesn't work, making a pack probably won't make a difference. Results came up when you hit find on data packer? If so, maybe you modded the wrong file by accident? If nothing else works, you could try going into racedb.xml and changing the entry for what you want the base to be to have the pmg/frm/animation values of the colossus you want. Though, this isn't preferable because you'd have to update this file every time DevCAT adds a new monster, pet, or NPC.

Yeah, four results came up (Probably because I had added four files). I hit modify, and the packer APPARENTLY packed them. Of note, however, the client .exe start button grayed out after I did it. I needed to run Mabi from front-end to actually get it to start up, but even after I had, the thing still remained the same. I don't really want to try messing with the .xmls, just because like you said, I'd have to change it -every- time there was an update. This should be a simple .pmg swap, m'not sure why it's so hard. X_x Is there any chance you could take a look at it? Maybe you'll find something I'm just not seeing.

You could try uploading your data folder but I'm not so sure what I'd be able to do. Have you tried removing then repacking your mods in datapacker?

Thank you guys! ^_^

For Bandit Hunting, I noticed with my mods the "hidden" bandits look larger. But once I defeat the first set of mobs and try to find another bandit, everything is invisible. I just have to bump into them luckily and hope to get a pass OR stop pursuing and re-pursue the one I was going after in order to see the large bandits on my screen again.

Also, I experience TREMENDOUS lag within the homestead pass mission. Is there a mod that gets rid of all the props and decreases the lag? I'm currently using the 11/5/12 Abyss and the latest Tiara.

That's a glitch on DevCAT's part.

I'm pretty sure they share models with homestead props meaning it'd effect homestead items too (but not identical items outside of the missions or homesteads). However, if they don't, just look for their models in Data/gfx/scene/ in your pack files and replace their models with blank PMGs or PMGs that were not meant for the original model's *.set file.

Is there a macro similar to the puppet skill spammer found here:http://mabimods.net/index.php?topic=14228.0, but for training fighter skills instead?

I'm using Itemdb, the newly updated one for Bracer Knuckle to swap it. However I typed the name didn't show up and I searched through the knuckles keyword still can't find it. Anyone know the code for it?
