Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

To find out which items are what files use item.english.txt to look up the name of the item that's used ingame. Next to it will be a number code, search that number in race.xml. The pmg name should be in the same entry. Go to data/gfx/char. If you're looking for items released from generation 9 to 12, go to the chapter 3 folder. If you're looking for G13-16, go to the chapter 4 folder. If it's anything released in G8 or before, just skip this step. Then go to either the Human or Giant folder. (Very few items are Elf-only.) Afterwards, obviously male or female... Then:
For gloves look in gloves...
For hats look in helmet.
For robes look in mantle.
For shoes look in shoes...
For clothing and armor look in wear.

Look for the the item in corresponding folder and you get it from here.Bump...
Thanks, where would the race.xml file be located though? Searching turns up nothing in any of my Mabinogi folders...
Edit: Nevermind, found it. Thanks again.
Edit: Trying to find the robe I'm looking for, number was 660 in the DB but every time I search the race.xml nearly every 660 is next to SplashRadius="660", hundreds of results and every one I've gone thru so far hasn't had an item code next to it... Am I doing something wrong? ):

Monsters are race.xml and race.english.txt, items are item.xml and item.english.txt.

Hello, I am new to modding and have been reading all sorts of guides on this forum. The reason I need to mod so badly is to remove the Tara buildings. I already downloaded one that removes the buildings and replaces with ropes, but once I zipped it in the data folder, nothing changes. is there another step I am missing?

Did you remember to use Datapacker.exe?

Someone confirmed to me that you cannot hide the text/names/labels of certain things 'server based'. However, I was wondering if it is still possible to hide the text appearing above a 'paper-airplane' after it lands.

I notice that the info above the paper-airplane appears similarly to how the text/labels on items dropped on the ground. However, whenever someone drops an Item Bag or flies a paper-airplane the label stays. The labels do disappear after a long time being in that channel but they reappear when you re-enter the game or place.

I want to play mabi without seeing text unless I hover the mouse on it or something. I have already 'hidden' the labels on exit/entrances, tools, herbs, ores, and all of those seem to go well.

Is there a way to hide those labels?

I've not checked it because I don't care about having extra labels that inform me of things, but I'm assuming it would have to be a dll mod ,and that no one else would care enough to make it considering we have very little dll programmers at the moment.

Is there a way to limit how long the 'emissions' or the glowing effect on the plot of land, in the farmland?

You know the beam of light the shines around the field when you are nearby the plot you leased. This is the same effect when you are looking for a house in the Housing Channel; it 'highlights' the location with the pillar of light around the house.

The light-effect does not show if you are in or around the area when you enter the game. It will not show also until you clicked the post next to the plot or until you finished tending to the plot of land.

I wish the light-effect would disappear when you are inside it.

i'm pretty sure that could be done with /gfx/ or /material/ data folder mods but don't have the time to check atm as i will be at my sisters for a few days.

I heard its the mint.dll but as of yet I do not want to touch in case it is detectable and cause banning.

They are in the material folder, but the untranslated korean-hangul makes it annoying to look for. However, my problem is if it is the one I ran into which says 'housing' on it. I am not sure if that will affect the housing-search light-effects only or the light-effects of both plot-of-land and housing.

I would like to see the results of the emitter and effects without having to log-in the game. Any programs or tools for this?

I found their framework; they are in data\gfx\scene\_temp. The items are called: house01_normal and house01_normal_deform, which have .set files associated to them. I'm do not know what to do about them to make them not appear in the game.

Replace both the set and pmgs with the pmgs and sets of field herbs, as they will never show a character model, or, more simply, only replace the pmg, as this will make an error and cause them to disappear.

It did not work. I guess that was not the correct target to make the light-effects disappear. If it does not work regardless, it must be a server based effect.

I'm sure you've all encountered having your eyes suddenly melted from their sockets when you visit Vales or come up above a hill and BAM RIGHT IN THE CORNEA.

Could someone make something to tone down the light / un-whitewash vales?

As a temp fix, you could probably replace the snow dds files for vales, with ash from raspa, or something similar.  Darker terrain.  You'd probably have to find the xml that controls the lighting for vales for a true fix though.
