Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

Giant Guns
« on: October 25, 2010, 12:27:10 am »
Wanted some guns on a giant in place of cylinder.  My ideal gun.

http://mabimods.net/index.php/topic,1329.msg9969.html#msg9969

Thing to keep in mind, alchemy.  I'm not overly concerned that water cannon or life drain looks impressive, but i'd at least like the animation to look smooth.
I got the files loaded, thought i replaced the pmgs of the human cylinders properly, but even then it didn't seem to display right.  So, a walkthrough (smite and msg me if you want) on how to do it, or someone uploading it for me, would be much appreciated.

Are you wanting someone to change what the water blast looks like and everything? It isn't hard to change the size of the guns.

Basically, can that mod be easily transitioned to giant?  The one shown there, was intended for crossbows, sounds and animations.  I have the files, but not sure if i can do anything with those.

I'm also aware, weapons are different depending on char size.  Look at 10 year old human/elf with a clay, then a giant of 18 with a clay.  Maybe it'd scale just fine for all i know, but apparently i'm renaming it or placing it wrong.

simply renaming the animations you need and the pmg's (and, of course, putting them in the right folders!) should do it just fine, it worked when i changed the mod from xbow to bow (i never did know why they said that wasn't possible...)

might look bad tho, or just plain wrong (like having a gun flying under your arm). not really sure about that.

also, be aware that there are some...complications...with the cylinder mods. for some reason the regular cylinder (no matter which version of the 5 you change it to) doesn't get changed 80% of the time. doing this for the "specialized" cylinders (water, fire, wind, clay) works just fine.

"specialized" cylinders fall under the Chapter3 subfolders.

to sum it up:
-renaming works
-might needa flip the guns upside down to look good,
-cylinder mods have issues

oh, speaking of complications, there was one issue i was concerned with, shields.  Shields can be equipped with cylinders, but i guess it'd look kinda weird to have a dual gun+shield, huh?

a good fix for that is getting the invisible cylinder mod and renaming it to whatever shield you use, ta-dah inviso shield :D

not sure if it'll clash in animations tho

usually there is a texture file associated with the pmg that you need to put into the texture file :)
Goals:
total 1000    /✓
r1 hailstorm /r2
r1 lullaby     /rA
r1 potion m. /rF [30%]
get fireball   /not started

Keep Kisa's karma at -1234.

and to follow up on itsu's previous statement, these textures sometimes take time to load. (had to wait 15 minutes once before)
