Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

NPC model swap?
« on: April 29, 2017, 12:19:27 pm »
Wondering if it's possible to swap NPC models for other ones? For example the squires, I swaped their NPC dialogue portraits and modified the GUI icons for their heads to match the portraits. All I'd be missing is to change their 3D entities to match as well. Any documentation on doing this?
Thanks,

Probably npcclientappearance.xml with some stuff possibly in race.xml if they went that route.

Do note that the squires will wear clothing and wield weapons as dictated by the server, so unless you find and swap those things (and deal with the player versions being swapped too) they'll still "dress" normally when the server tells them to wear x outfit.

I gave it a try, it seems to all be in race.xml but I think it just gets ignored and pushed by the server. I used Kanna as a demo, replaced every mention of Kanna with the same outfit ID and it was completely ignored.

They wear outfits, as in, the server tells your client what the NPC is wearing as an item.
So if you want them to have a different look you'll need to edit the item they're wearing.
If you have Abyss/Kanan you can right-click them to view their equipment to see what it is.
