Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

While possible, i doubt UAC would be the issue.  I would assume antivirus would be far more likely to screw with NGS than that.  But... it is nexon, so i wouldn't rule much of anything out at this point.

Ye AV was one of my leads, but unfortunately even with it disabled temporarily I was still getting NGSd, so at least in my case that doesn't appear to be the issue. Would love it if it were that simple however XD

Edit: So. A few of my friends found the stupidest solution ever. So after the NGS kick, you get presented with the old numerical userid login screen, which usually results in a server cannot be reached message if you attempt to log in.

As it happens, apparently in the case of NGS it lets you log back in. More so, having logged back in via that login screen, I've been logged in a good 10 minutes without NGS.

Sooooo.... until we have a proper fix I guess we just accept a single NGS in the first 5 mins and then are safe from then on?

At this point I'm wondering if Abyss is actually detected and just NGS is doing a crap job of detecting it for a bunch of people, and that we might actually be due an update. Nothing complicated seems to make sense, so perhaps the solution is the simplest one.

A little theory here, out of those of us here having issues, how many have UAC disabled. I'm wondering if the difference between UAC on and run as admin vs UAC off is the difference. I have UAC off and both without run as admin (as its not required without UAC for directlaunch) and with run as admin I NGS. Perhaps having UAC on prevents NGS doing some of its work whereas UAC off gives it free reign. No idea the viability of that theory, just speculating.

Easiest way is to simply type "uac" into the run/search bar and its the first/only result, else its buried under the user accounts section of control panel somewhere.

Actually multi still works, I was multiing earlier. I logged them both on at the same time, and then did the workaround on both of them. However if you then close 1 client, the 2nd client will then NGS, but you can repeat the workaround again.

So multi works, just gotta take the NGS hit again.

And I agree, even if many people arent having issues with Abyss, at this point I suspect Abyss is actually detected and NGS just isnt doing it's job of booting people properly. For some reason I keep having my clients freeze up on me when using kanan, so gonna stick to workaround abyss for now. Getting the 1 NGS kick is an inconvenience, but its better than the other choices atm IMO.

After youve been kicked the first time, enter your password below the given username, and if it lets you in, follow the normal steps, if it works, and you dont get kicked, than you're set! (credit to Skylaars' Friends)

I'd heard this in discord earlier today actually, but didn't wanna encourage it as i don't play and heard it from only one individual.  (credible as they may be)
I think, with others trying this and more confirming it as effective, if not efficient, i'll edit this into the first post.  Thank you for encouraging others to trying this, as well as sharing it.


Removed the temporary bit i recently added, about removing nexon's security files and doing a repair, again credit to skylaar on that.
Going to see if i can review some of the contents of the post for other outdated content.  Example being, power patcher isn't an acceptable launch method, and the old launch is obsolete as it does not work anymore.

Alrighty, cleaned up the first post to the best of my ability.  Many thanks to everyone who's actually been in this thread recently, discussing matters, as well as some individuals who haven't actually posted here.  All feedback helps get a better perspective on the situation, and affirm what we do know, as new issues arise.  Seriously, as one who's not playing the game, my info is coming from everyone else, so all the discussion is invaluable for this thread and anyone who would reference it, so even if we get frustrated at dealing with matters, sincere thanks for still taking the time to deal with us.

On that note, anyone who does read the first post, the invitation to make suggestions for it is still open, for things i may have forgotten to include, or things you feel shouldn't belong in there.  I won't promise to edit it based on a suggestion alone, but i can say i'll read the suggestion and give consideration to the reasoning and weigh how useful i think the info could be to others.  Just like getting my info from others, the OP itself may improve based on what is suggested, as it's point isn't to serve me but others.


And now for a rough rundown of the dull 'i edited this into op' details.  As always, i have an edit log in the second post of this thread, with much the same details, it also contains generic tips not related to NGS for those who wish to skim it.
I removed old ngs quote from skylaar about how you may try removing nexon's security files and then having the launcher repair them, to fix potential NGS errors.  It has been replaced with the recent comments, from skylaar and others, about logging in, waiting 5 mins to trip ngs, then after being booted just logging in again and playing as normal.
Power patcher won't do much good atm, all mentions of it in the OP have been appropriately edited to cover this.
Minor edits for typos, consistency, and just general cleanup.

As I responded to someone yesterday, multi does still work as long as you log them both on at the same time, and relog them after ngs at the same time, Multi is one of the first things I tested yesterday.

That said if you close one client the other will NGS, but you can then perform the relog yet again and all is good.

Thats just opening 2 clients via directlaunch, logging them both in at same time, letting them NGS at same time and then relogging via the other login screen, works just fine for me, sat here doing my renown via multi at present.

With Tiara/Abyss installed with default settings, seems that once NGS-kicked and you relog without closing the client, it's fine, and this is with using DATAPacker instead of reading from Data folder.

Other than that, I don't see anything else that seems to trigger the NGS... And this is with single client. Not touching multi-client at the moment.

For Reference since people are thinking it might be OS- / System-related:
Win 10 Pro, 64-Bit

Ye I think OS and UAC are safely ruled out at this point. I think it really is just NGS doing a crap job of kicking people this time around tbh. As to why, who knows, but it seems as though an Abyss update would likely resolve the issue, though we can't really say for sure since we don't know the root cause.

The only thing i had installed which was Abyss, and it keeps popping NGS alert.. so either needs to be updated or if there is a fix already can someone point out where it is thank you in advanced :)
