Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

Don't know what's actually causing it but running abyss causes my client to crash while loading the pleione engine.

Got this today after updating my Abyss from 2/14 to 2/18. Don't know what to do about it but it doesn't let me load the client at all.

Update: Seems like only one of my computers got it. The other computer is still running 2/14 Abyss just fine.

Your NGS and related files are out of whack. Updating should fix this. See the Powerpatcher thread.

What is detected? Abyss? Tiara? Kanan? PowerPatcher? How many attempts were made to stay logged in? More than one? There are a lot of different things that are needed to narrow things down and help others. Please contribute by posting more information in the future.

Using latest (Feb. one) version of Abyss and having no trouble, so far.

Just needed to patch through Nexon Game Manager thing then use DirecLauncher that people released.

And I'm not using any other mods other than Abyss.

didn't happen when back when I used the non nexon launcher version.

A lot of people have no problem with Abyss still. Yet, I am one of those who DO get kicked from NGS.

How I patched/started mabi:

I had to use powerpatch to patch mabinogi. (I don't have nexon launcher) and after patching successfully I removed power patcher from the folder and launched Mabinogi with the direct launcher.
NGS kick 5 minutes later.

I removed Mabinogi entirely, put an entirely clean version from a backup on my pc. Patched it with PPatcher again, started with direct launcher...same thing.

I now play nexon launcher mabinogi after entirely downloading it again....everything is fine. I will now try to put abyss in it since I've patched it with Nexon launcher now and not PPatcher.

Just a little thing about my issues with NGS on my second PC... I've had the latest Abyss before update and didn't update it after. So what I did after maint:
1) Renamed ijl11.dll -> ijl11.dll2
2) Renamed ijl11.dat -> ijl11.dll
3) Copied PowerPatcher + Ionic.Zip.Reduced.dll to mabi folder
4) Updated game with PowerPatcher
5) Started game -> NGS
6) Started game2 -> NGS
7) removed Mabinogi.exe
8 ) Started game 3 -> works! (PowerPatcher still in mabi folder)
9) Apparently now can rename back ijl11.dll to ijl11.dat and ijl11.dll2 to ijl11.dll and it should still be fine

It's outlined in the first post, but also be sure not to start mabi with power patcher.  That's been known to trip ngs for a while.  Aside from that, i have nothing useful to add, don't actually play now.

Great job.  THIS POST, is exactly what we like to see.  You actually took the time to report your findings and was specific enough to where it can be of use to others.  We as the staff, would LOVE to see more posts like this.  Thank you.

  • Several modding tools are currently being detected if running while Mabinogi is running and should be closed beforehand or not used at all to avoid detection:
    changing the Window Caption of detected programs or filenames has been proven as possible methods to prevent NGS detection.

In a word, yes. 

Not trying to be a jerk, just wanted it clear that i did point out powerpatcher trips NGS.  I put effort into the first post, as did a few of our staff, and if there was a horrible error i would go back to fix it.  First post is meant, if read, to help cover honest to god NGS issues and detail them.  Multiple users have contributed efforts to finding out and spelling out, about what causes NGS to go off.  Again, not trying to be a jerk, but it is disrespectful as you came across (probably not intentionally) as discrediting the info in the first post.  So i simply wanted to be clear that the first post did indeed, detail such matters is all. 

I sensed no ill intent in your previous post, so i have nothing against you, and still greatly appreciate the effort you made in sharing details.  So please don't mistake my correction for misappreciation, as it was intended as nothing other than a simple correction.

So, the thing is that most have to be mindful of is that many of us test things personally, and report the results and share our findings after compiling them for ease of use.  When others don't "READ" our posts and findings.  It's not only a just a dis-respect to the OP, it's also to the staff, those involved, the community, and one's self.  Because really, a person cheats themselves of potential solutions when it comes down to it. 

I only presented this as another viewpoint which is often missed.

Hmmm guess it's not that then, I had one friend last night running latest abyss and wasn't getting NGS even after cc/recognised and then discovered this morning that a different friend left me a message saying that was the issue so I put 2 and 2 together but I guess it runs deeper.

My friend not getting NGSd with abyss after CC would suggest particular config options trigger it, but that's not been how abyss gets detected in the past, might have to fiddle with config to see if that's a lead.

Alternatively its possible NGS now requires a full client reboot rather than just a religious for it to update, but that would be a weird change unless it was part of the nexon launcher changeover

I guess for now we continue to assume it's a normal anti-abyss update but I'm gonna try and poke about and see if I can figure out why my friend is unaffected.
