Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

General Question Thread
« on: August 07, 2016, 02:45:19 am »
In our continuing effort to prevent necroposting and excessively off-topic posts, I have created this thread to collect all random statements, questions, etc. Please post here rather than finding an ancient topic from last year, and posting something totally unreleated to that topic.

I have made this topic sticky so that it won't be hard to find. This is one of very few topics where off-topic posts and necroposting are allowed, but the other rules still apply.

Please post mod-related Mabi questions in the same-titled thread in the Client Modifications section.
E = mc² actually stands for Enjoyment = (Modifying the Client)². The more Mods you have, the Enjoyment increases exponentially.

Question about Autoit scripts and Mabi. So I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and if they had a solution. When I'm running a script that I wrote I almost ALWAYS disconnect from Mabi (no "Abnormal disconnection" message) on all my clients (aside from 1 usually). Sometimes this happens 1 hour after I start the script and other times it happens 5 hours later.

Anyone know if this is an issue  with Autoit, Mabi or both? Or maybe there could be something wrong with my comps (I use more than one computer for this script)?

[Question] Are animal ai server sided?
« Reply #2 on: September 29, 2016, 08:01:31 am »
Are the animal ai's such as sheep and cows server sided or can it be found in one of the package's data/db/ai directories?

The only thing that's client sided in the AIs are you and your pets.

New to the whole mod thing for Mabi... What are some of the basic, extremely common mods people use?

Tiara, Abyss and kanan are the most common mods people use. Tiara edits the data folder/creates a custom pack file, which is mostly visual editing. Abyss and kanan edit memory, which can change how some things work mechanically. A lot of people choose combinations of them, or all three. One thing to avoid if you choose to use Abyss and kanan together is choosing to have some patch enabled on one or the other, but not both, if they do the same thing. This would mean enable Scouter/ShowCombatPower on either Abyss or kanan, but not on both as it could cause unintended things from happening.

1. What's the highest DPS I can get early on skill wise?  I only plan on doing melee, magic, guns, and maybe ninja for the strength.

2. Is there anyway I can remap the Alt key?

3. What's a good way to make money nowadays?  I usually just do the Dragons, Elite SM when I can, and mostly Rabbie Basic. (2k total)

Thanks in advance.

I don't recommend guns, they don't make you stronger, they give little to no damage stats.
They're best used when you're already strong.

Is there anyway to make the bitmap font bigger? It's nice but I'm blind.

Turn bitmap off, and use a custom font by replacing the old one.

Data/gfx/font/
I'd double check the spelling, but I believe it's nanumgothicbold.ttf

Put your custom font there, name it that.

Kanan's has a patch to change non-bitmap font size, and the CE table I have in my signature has the option as well (but my table is more hassle for day-to-day usage and is mainly for testing purposes).

I was looking for a bitmap font because it helps with the lag.

Yeah, vector fonts can reduce lag too.  It's why we use them.

Bitmap font is rendered as textures and I unfortunately don't know of any way to scale it.

Less complex vector fonts can help too but so far I haven't found one that has the perfect combo of readability and simplicity.

I've been using the bitmap font "hooge". It's a little small, but way bigger than the default one in frontend.  only problem with it so far is that it puts one of the numbers on my ammo counter on a separate line

One of the original tiara fonts, which is now (for some reason I don't understand) completely broken and unusable on the game... Was a perfect font.  Now using it just garbles the game.

nexon changed the font positioning years back so it caused most letters to be cutoff and while i attempted to fix a few letters for it, it was too much work for me to perfect it so i gave up on it.
though i assume the file you tried wasn't from uo tiara so it wouldn't have been edited at all.
but yea, not sure what exactly they did or why that caused some fonts to shift a few pixels and cutoff.

if I have Kanan can mabi detect macros? If so is there another way to block it from detecting them?
