Quite odd, some people are crashing as of now. I'm still long in after almost 2 hours of being online with not the latest possible Tiara mod and the latest Abyss only. Can any of you screenshot of your folders to see what is out of place?

Hmm I have Windows 8.1 and you have Windows 10 for sure. Lately all the other reports have been Windows 10 users but I don't want to point that out too quickly.
Seems nothing in the folder is out of place either. Hmm.

I've yet to run into any issues related to Windows 10 with Mabinogi, it is true I've heard a lot of things, but only as of today has Abyss been detected by NGS, I'd like to rule out a possible NGS update that may have occurred during today's maintenance (which wouldn't require a client patch.) but there is no way for me to verify that.

I've had Abyss installed for years before and even since the new NGS system was put in place I've never once had issues or have been detected until today.

Likely we will have to wait for the update for those crashing. There are some just simply crashing NGS to bypass the crash but if you want to play safe you'll have to remove Abyss in the meantime.

One thing that was pointed out was that even with DataFolder disabled, Bitmap fonts still worked, which suggested a pack file edit, but when I disabled bitmap font mods my text clearly rendered as the default text font, as shown bellow.

bitmap isn't a .pack or data folder mod, it can only be done with abyss or mod_sharker, which is why disabling the datafolder had no change to the bitmap font.

I've had Abyss installed for years before and even since the new NGS system was put in place I've never once had issues or have been detected until today.
as far as their detection method goes i doubt it has anything to do with their operating system, if it's crashing well that's one thing, but if it's showing the NGS error detecting a mod well it's most likely detecting dinput8.dll or another filename or program that we'll have to test for and make sure people are removing it (program or said file) and eventually bypass it as they will most likely be adding more files to be scanned and detected against, which is why more and more people will just now be having issues due to old mod files or current mods being in their directory.

those with issues can still use data folder mods using logue's mabipacker and creating custom data folder .pack's to be placed in the package folder

If it helps I don't have CE installed on this system, and it has never been installed either, furthermore I thought maybe DyeLite had something to do with it however I've ran it with a clean client running and had no issues.

neither CE or dyelite is on their scanning list, so yea having them and a clean client will obviously run fine.

so chances are they had dinput8.dll left over from an old abyss

I wouldn't have posted here without trying this and basic troubleshooting myself :p Rydian prob wants to send me to the moon by now xD; I'm always annoying him every time I screw up with a mod.

Likely they simply reply saying they only have Abyss installed and nothing else but never mention if they have the older files.

It is one of the simple fixes if we are stumped. Restarting pc, clean install, uninstall/reinstall mods, remove all mods. The rest is just reporting what we can debunk and fix.

I would suggest making a stickied thread in tech support, temporary not stickied indefinitely, and compiling any problems about logging due to the anti-mod measures, detail any known issues and fixes in the first post and moving posts anyone makes about such issues into said thread.

With an official thread on it, it being in tech support where you'd expect, and keeping the mess out of other threads, i would think it'd be easier to keep a handle on all the unnecessary posts regarding the matter.  And i'm of the mentality "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink."

Just going to drop in my experience

Was getting NGS errors. Did a fresh install of the game + Tiara/Abyss and haven't gotten any errors since. Strange enough, I'm only had abyss + v227 of Tiara on my last install and nothing else, but it's worth a shot to do a clean install.

I like this idea, but I do not have enough information currently to do this due to being rather busy to keep up with recent events on here.

If somebody could create a thread either in client mod (for a larger number of users to see it) or in tech support and compile all known information and solutions/fixes to problems.

I will go ahead and sticky the thread, and begin to transfer relevant posts into that thread, from various places around the site.

True there. I see Abyss post has some people answering. A couple here and another thread in Tech's Support.
We either merge with an older thread or make a completely new one into one of the sections. Can't decide whether client or support.

It's meant to address problems over actual mods, least in my view, which is why i suggested tech support.

As for compiling, i may look around in a bit or later, but it'd be more of a sum-up and compilation, unless people specifically request it i wouldn't bother with crediting due to how all over the place the mess is, and who found out what first is likely to be another mess.

The only reason I ever suggest the client mod board, for non-mod threads, is to get them seen by more people, in less time.

It's how I get important things well known quickly.   It's why my master guide to modding was placed there, back in the day when Tiara's patcher first broke, and nobody could figure out how to use a data packer, the spam stopped almost instantly when I put that in the client mod board.

Posting in the wrong section is a great way to get things seen, but I cannot let people start doing that freely, we'd have a mess.  But for major issues, such as this, it'd be a good way to spread info.

Until I was modded, I never visited any board other than Client Mods. I agree with putting things that are major there since that's the main place people get the things they need.
