Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

How do I Import Nao Into 3DS Max?
« on: January 25, 2016, 08:03:52 pm »
As the title says.  I run into issue where no matter what part of mesh I use for Nao I get the message on 3DS Max saying improper mesh.   I understand she have special bone.  Know any methods to get it to work?

Don't you have to convert from mqo to use 3DS?
I don't actually know anything about this stuff, I just see it around here a lot.
We have a converter in the files section.

How it works. How or why you convert. And how to get the converted files working.... I have no idea. I just know you're supposed to convert it.

Hopefully this helped, because its all I know on the subject

Hmmm, that makes sense in some ways I guess.  I will try it out with that and see how it goes.

I came to realise that I only use pmg editor to export Nao into .3ds for 3DS Max and only saying improper file format.  I know for human or elf female mesh you need all parts such as headgear, handgear, footwear, and clothing to cover up the arms and legs in order for 3DS Max to recognize.

Nao actually has her own frame and you will need to export her pmg with her frame or pieces will be missing. Though if your wanting to edit her PMG then do the pmg2moq. Best recommendation from past work.

While I know she have a frame is what I need to export with and her mesh.  But what I need to do in order to make 3DS Max to work?  I'm only using 3DS Max to edit her animation.  I am well aware this will mess her up when you see her ingame.

I may edit her mesh in the future, but not right now.

3dsMax can't edit mesh exported from PMG Editor. You need to use PMG2moq and... Metasequoia or something like that to edit mesh. Though what you edit usually won't come out how you like it.

3dsMax can edit her animations. You need to use her framework (and Nao-related mesh) found at data/gfx/char/human/nao

I decided to mess around with getting 3ds max to recognise the .3ds file for Nao.  It seem it work if I unchecked bone and it came up there, but if I unchecked just animation and checked the bone and mesh (which literally can't uncheck mesh anyway) and then import it to 3ds max I don't see any bone there.  I honestly don't know if it have anything to do with my laptop's cpu or gpu, or something missing in 3ds max there.

Yes I load nao_framework.frm, nao_mesh.pmg, and nao_ani_appear_01 in pmg editor and export them for 3ds max for animation that I am aiming for.  Not editing the mesh.  But the result of the issue is still the same.
