Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

abyss options aren't coming up in the dropdown menu up in the upper lefthand corner when you click the celtic knot/mabinogi icon in windowed mode

This is the Extra Threads tag in your .ini.
Assuming you know how to edit your .ini settings and toggle your mods on and off in there, Extra Threads is listed at the bottom, make sure you have it set to 1 to enable it.

Just had windows defender turn itself back on, flag ijl11.dll (i already made the folder an exception?), and then crash mabi. The nexon launcher insisted on updating, and now no matter what i do with abyss settings the game crashes only a few moments after logging back in. What do i do?

Try redownloading it with Windows defender off. Defender has been acting on it's own as of late so I'd leave it off. If you continue to have issues, you can always turn on debug logging in the Abyss.ini and attach the logs

click Attachments and other options and then choose file.

Question rewarding to Sidhe's glitching floor.
I don't know if it coming from abyss, however it has been occurring and it near to unavoidable.
Basically what happen is that being in certain camera angle will make sidhe's floor disappear, and the only way to avoid this is move till your camera shows the floor again, or else when ever you click the floor you will only keep moving forward, it really annoying when you are fighting the bone dragon's as you are trying to position out of the fireball.
Is there a way to fix this? or is this something related to nexon itself?

Screenshot Mode is supposed to lock your camera in place, letting you move, angle your camera and scroll freely (within certain range).
For some reason while having Abyss active, which I have not troubleshooted yet on which tags might cause it, but Screenshot mode does nothing of that nature...

That's most likely what I'll do. I mean, this has been a thing for a very long time but I've always been too lazy to logout and test things. It's just funny because Partner Zoom seemed more likely, and Alt+Enter was the literal last tag I tested...

I'm just trying to think how it's related to the Screenshot Mode camera position???

Edit:
Well- apparently having it disabled in the ini right now, and trying to use the function doesn't do anything to my client anyway because I use the borderless full screen! I guess I'm good, but it still leaves an issue for those who play in windowed.

New update. I have installed the latest abyss and it works!

these are the lines I modify only:

Offtopic question, still Abyss related.
I've had this problem with Abyss for a while, maybe there's a simple solution: When i want to type something in guild chat, or whisper, basically anything, the cursor is always placed behind the symbol.
And when I type long sentences, the cursor is literally moving too fast forward. It's basically all the way to the end of the bar, while the letters are still placed in the right position.
It's really confusing when you want to put spaces between sentences. Here's an example of what I mean:


the cursor itself just generally behaves really weird. Never had this until a few Abyss patches back (few months ago)

As you can see the cursor just warps back and forth and creates unwanted space now and then. sometimes goes entirely at the end of the bar for no reason.

Same thing happens to me. I have both bitmap font and the position fix set to 0. Setting position fix to 1 doesn't resolve it. Setting bitmap font doesn't either. Nor does turning both options on.

I use both Bitmap and Fix tags, but I do not use this one because I had also run into this weird thing when it was released.
I have it toggled off just because I find it super annoying and I don't find it necessary for myself.

Yep, I keep mine turned off also, although it would be really useful if it didn't insist on the cursor showing up before the tab triggers (@, #, %, and ^ respectively).

The purpose of it is so you can click in the middle of your sentence and edit things, or even highlight I believe.
Without it, if you have a normal line of text, you cannot move the cursor anywhere and it stays uniform at the far right.
It does seem useful but it's a little awkward for me at least.

I actually have the same problem. And when the floor disappears, I can barely move my characters just like you mentioned. Would like to know about a fix for this too

EDIT: I just heard from a friend that the Abyss zoom apparently breaks it.

The main purpose of the mod is to allow you to edit what you have written before pressing enter without erasing every word between the end of the line and the typo. It is an error I get a lot, but it is also a feature I use a lot, such as when I forget to use the % sign to send it to guild chat, press the home key to get to the beginning of the line, and edit it in.

Anyone else having problems with the "NoDesc" mod? In the attached patch log below, Abyss seems to successfully patch the mod, but the in-game result still shows the description for an example item (pic also attached below).

Interestingly, if I try to toggle the mod on/off, the patch log shows "ERROR: Update of system menu failed". ExtraThreads=1 hasn't crashed my game since R262.2, but I'm curious if the No Desc issue is an isolated incident, or a defective mod?

EDIT: Toggling any mods on/off thru checkmarks via ExtraThreads does not take effect, but a physical change to Abyss.ini and then "Reload .INI" adds/removes the effects.
HOWEVER, NoDesc definitely seems broken/bugged.

Curious, is anyone else having an issue with the sky lantern balloon item crashing you? About 75% of the time if I even so much as mouse over one in a shop I crash, and every single time I set one down in my inventory or equip one my client disappears. Also having other random crashes but the sky lantern one is 100% reproducible
