I think I've done that (I honestly don't even know what I'm doing tbh, really am not all that smart when it comes to this sort of stuff.) but still comes up with the same problem.
I don't really have any other mods aside from Abyss in the files I guess.
If you have a hard time understanding the following, playtime's post is probably for you.
https://mabimods.net/index.php?topic=17690.msg248457#newThat thread. Look at the common files affected section. If you have one of the files listed in there, from before this update, try removing it completely outside of your mabi directories. If you need to confirm the location of the file, click the spoiler for R239 Update Files, and just use ctrl+f to search the file name. That should also show the directory of your file, so locating it will be a cinch.
If you honestly want to learn this stuff, refer to the modding reports after every update, this a wonderful starting place specifically the common affected files. Keep in mind the common affected files are not literally changed with every update, but are changed regularly enough, and big enough of an issue, they're basically an honorable mention so people will double-check them every update.
If you've taken a look at the modding report,
Master-Guide to Modding is the next stop. Don't bother try reading it all in one go, look at the first post and it cuts the thread into sections. (a few other posts are scattered here and there as well) The guide's still in progress so there's work to be done, if you have suggestions playtime has encouraged users to make a post in the thread with said suggestions.
If there's questions you want to ask, there's a general question thread, one each for general forums and client modifications. You can post your questions there and someone will hopefully get to you at their earliest convenience.
The userbase here may seem rather abrasive, but we do encourage learning. If you're honestly putting forth effort to try to learn stuff, usually you'll find someone willing to put time in to help you. Many will grow impatient though, if the details they are covering are also already in a sticky. Bear with us though, as many of the people who provide help have been here for years, so the age of some of the contents, or even the disorganization of some of it, just kinda starts to blend together and we don't give it a second thought.
