I'd say i'm pretty vocal and honest on here. Just that the matter has to be worth my time. As playtime says, there are plenty of people who come in here, want stuff whether it's help or a mod, and don't bother to read even the basics, or reasearch an obvious keyword for their problem. Things like a hackshield number, which could easily be searched and would provide sufficient answer to solve the problem within 3 mins, in 90% of the cases. I generally will only tell them to search, or flat out not touch them. Other things, like people posting in this abyss thread about something like having issues with right-clicking mabi in the taskbar, for the extra menu, and having it cause problems. I'm just thinking 'oh, that's covered in the first post,' or 'that was discussed not 5 posts ago,' and i won't touch those either.
Naturally, if it's a topic that an individual isn't experienced in, it's hard to say something worth posting. I can't really help with frontend, and i also have no interest in frontend. I can help with tiara some, purely cuz it's data folder and i know how that works. As for tiara itself, i don't use it. Abyss is meh. Sometimes i can, sometimes i can't. I lack the coding knowledge, and interest, for the finer points.
I do however, submit myself to trial and error to figure out problems, and when i find it i try to volunteer the information i gathered so that it can help others. However, to be told i ignore people or insulted, when i can see posters coming in, begging for a fix that could be done in 10 mins and under with searching or trial and error, is tantamount to mud-slinging to me. You don't want help, or you want to be rude because your particular case isn't gotten to fast enough, or you're not helped 100% of the time, then i'd just say go somewhere else. Find some other site to cover your 'needs' or use google. No need to slander people who have put in effort to give you mods to help you enjoy your game more, simply because they don't jump when you say.
May be a bit harsh, but i'm afraid this is one of those times i think it's deserved. I kept the discussion clean though. I could ramble/rant on, but it'd be fairly repetitive. So i'll end with simply, consider the other person's perspective, and make sure you reflect effort made when you make posts. Like playtime implies(?), lack of details is frustrating to those who would volunteer help, and the details reflect effort made.
