does this work if you launch the game through steam? and how would i know that it is active? thank you!

It should, yes.

When you launch mabi, just look for a file in your mabinogi directory that's named, Abyss_patchlog.txt
That will confirm that abyss is working.  Though, make sure you launch crackshield if you intend to actually play, abyss and mabi won't work if you don't launch crackshield.

The crackshield taking memory, i can confirm.  It doesn't happen 100% to me, but it does happen.

For me, i load crackshield, it pops up in my system tray, and i can launch mabi.  Every now and then though, crackshield will show up in the system tray like normal, but i can't double-click it to close it, i can't use task manager to close it, and i can't use task manager with admin privileges to close it.  Same for stopping the process. 

In these scenarios though, crackshield not only has issues closing, but screws up mabi too.  I'll type my account info, and i think after i hit log in and before the second password, it will crash the game.  Don't remember what the error was, not testing atm.  Only way to close crackshield and play again, is to restart the system and try till it works, in this situation.

I got this problem once so far on Windows 7. Crackshield took a rediculous amount of ram and wouldn't close the normal way, but I didn't have to restart my computer. Crackshield closed after I closed all of it's threads in Process Explorer, and everything worked fine the next time I launched it.

I tried that, using task manager.  It failed, so i ran task manager with elevated privileges, and it failed too.  I tried stopping the task, then the actual process tree in the services or w/e.  Couldn't find a way to close it short of restarting.

But it is definitely worth attempting, unless you got like a 30 second reboot time or something on your pc.  Cuz ending it via task manager or something similar, would be faster.

Guess windows 10 task manager isn't as good as i originally thought then.  Time to do some digging.

I keep getting this error when I try to start Crackshield

Error occurred during initialization.

Any help please? I've restarted computer over and over again and re-downloaded Abyss many times and yet nothing works... The last time I got this I uninstalled mabi and then reinstalled then it worked but it's making me do this everyday now.

Nevermind, I fixed it. Had to download nexon guard and place it in the folder then started abyss up and it worked.

I randomly started getting a white screen after launching the game even though I had been playing the game all night before. Set multi client to 0 in the Abyss.ini, and it works now.

I believe abyss.ini is recreated every time you launch mabinogi though?  Either way, if you're crashing and abyss.ini is the only thing being removed, should mean that w/e changes you made to the .ini is crashing you, and the default abyss.ini works.  If the .ini setup and creation is like pretty much every other ini i've used anyway.

The white screen is from direct launch, if I opened with client.exe, it gives error and closes without opening. Abyss is with default settings, didn't tough .ini at all. All I did was put it in folder, updated and open HackShield, and ran Mabi.

I've been facing a small issue every since yesterday's maintenance. I am a W10 user, european and my only solution to play mabinogi is to use abyss alongside Crackshield.

I've managed to get my client to launch properly but as soon as I click on "Log in", my client gets stuck & the only possibility I have is to kill the task to shut it down. I always launch Crackshield before hand, in admin mode.
I've tried reinstalling mabi then reinstalling Abyss.

I think it may be linked to Crackshield because once the least is launched I cannot shut it down even when I double click on the icon or when I try to kill the task. It just stays on.

If yoy need anything from me, just ask I'll try my best to give the requested material to identify the problem.

Could be the same thing that was brought up on page 159 of this thread by a couple people. If it is, restarting the computer usually fixes it, or  you can try using proccess explorer like I mentioned 2 pages later(not far above your post).

I go to run the game, Ive installed Abyss and Crackshield and once i run the game... after i enter my account info and go to log in the program stops responding... help?
