Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

Just to mention blade,

The error (the one you can leave open and play with) seems to be account related.

When i log into an account without error, no problem.

When i log into an account with error, it stays there till i relog into my account without the error.

Thought it would help.

Great mod btw.
Keep it up!

Sounds like some people can avoid the blacklist then? Do you get a message saying you're on the blacklist in the log?

I doubt it. I really, really doubt it.

The error comes up for me randomly, but for an interval of time, it will keep appearing every time I restart my client. But even with the error, I can log into any account just fine.

Besodes, how can you "leave open and play" if you can't login?

i can login just fine o.o it jsut stays in the background.

And i only get it when i log in to the account with the error.

If i dont , i never get the error. Ive even restarted mabi many many times just to make sure.

i can relog on the account thats unaffected like 1000 times and it wont pop up once.

log in with the account with the error, instantly pops up on 1st login.

Did you make any changes to your blacklisting function recently?

I doubt I'm on your blacklist, but if jonathonlwm is right, then it seems the issue might be with your blacklisting thingy.

And no, I get nothing about blacklisting in my log.

Sounds like dsound is getting called, not proxying, and for some reason not applying any of the mods. Have you tried more than once? Make sure you have DirectX installed. If none of this works then I have no idea from the info you posted unless, for some stupid reason, you're trying this on Windows 8. I suppose the modifications couldn't be called if dinput8 wasn't being called because then HackShield would be protecting the memory so make sure that's there as well.

Apparently, if I login to a character with a space in its name, the next launch will give me the error.
Odd.

Or it might have been the account. Let me test some more.

When you eat a lot of cake.

Seems to be the character.

There was an exploit awhile ago that bypassed name authentication, so people could add spaces, mid-name capitals, punctuation, and so on.

Yeah.. Figured as much when he mentioned cake. Either way it's not really my problem but I'll look into it anyway.

Although, this would not explain it for a lot of other people... who probably don't have special characters in their name...

If I downloaded the game from Steam do I have to do anything differently when modding? I'm not sure if I'm in the right spot for this question, I apologize if it's out of place. I'll gladly accept redirections ^-^

Not sure if I did something, but HackShield is complaining about it already running.
Here is what I'm doing in order:

  • Start HSLaunch.exe
  • Launch Mabinogi from either it's non-Steam folder, or Steam (it is doing it with the non-Steam, and Steam version)
  • HackShield finishes loading in the bottom right, then it throws an error at me saying that it is already running.

Seems to be related to HSLaunch, as that is the only HackShield-related process running at the time.

Windows 7 64-bit, so it shouldn't be that.

Edit: It works perfectly fine if I remove Abyss (Data Folder mods installed and packed, it just doesn't want to launch properly with Abyss)

Okay then unless for some reason you don't have DirectX installed I have no idea. The only reason that should be happening is if dinput8.dll isn't being called and Client.exe always calls it.

Fixed it by setting the Mabinogi folder so it isn't Read Only :D Thought it might interfere with it loading correctly, hunch was correct ^_^

I'm pretty sure the error everyone's talking about(the one that doesn't always crash the game) has nothing to do with this or any mods. I was getting what seems to be the same error before I noticed abyss was updated. Psomething Engine loading bar (in the bottom right corner) filled about 80% right away, then stopped for 3-25 minutes, and sometimes aggain around 99% and occasionally got a message saying"error during execution" which didn't interfere with clicking/typing on the client and didn't end the client when closing the error message with the  X button. I seems lo happen less often after adding this patcher.

I noticed there's an something in the .ini about a network lag fix, is that working for anyone? I still need to do the mtu fix seperately for everything to work at full speed, but i haven't tried turning nalge back on to see if this replaces it yet(too lazy to restart).

Also, something seems to be wrong with the ingame ping meter. The green/yellow/red dot shows up but hovering over it doesn't bring up the tooltip with exact numbers. Might have something to do with the recent interface rearrangement.

I have an MTU and Nagle program, however the MTU only works for Vista/7. If it's wanted I can upload them both.

I'm already aware of which numbers correspond to which color, but in the past hovering the mouse over that dot brought up a tooltip with the exact number and that part doesn't seem to be working now. if your ping is past 500, you're not going to need a mod to notice that it's over 500 in a game where just 5 makes a difference.

I have an MTU and Nagle program, however the MTU only works for Vista/7. If it's wanted I can upload them both.
We already have .bat files for Nalge and MTU on Mabimods in the tools section. Then again, i was pretty lazy about making the MTU ones and and whoever uploaded the nalge one said it might not work on some OSes, so having another alternative probably wouldn't hurt.

But the reason was asking about
Quote from: dsound.ini
;MTU and Nagle like fixes for the Client through direct socket alteration?
Nodelay=1
is that i heard that the version of the nalge fix that can be done from inside the client would only affect the client(so it would fix mabi's lag WITHOUT slowing down things like torrenting and video streaming, which would be awesome) I n my previous post i asked if anyone has already confirmed that that part of the patcher was working properly, cause at that moment, I was too lazy to restart my computer to turn nalge back on for everything else to test it myself :P
