Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

Is it not possible to use an alternate bitmap font with Abyss?
That option, specifically, ignores normal text rendering in order to use actual bitmap font rendering, which is much faster than normal text.

However, if you want the bitmap style you can turn that option off and just insert your own .TTF bitmap-style font into the data folder to get that sort of display, though it won't be as fast.

Bitmap font is actually in the default files.  It's part of a DDS file.  You can edit it, sure.  It's data/gfx/gui
It's one of the font files, don't know if it was the eng one or not.  Do note, and this is important, you have to enable bitmap fonts in a patcher like abyss.  This file is not read by default, and i don't think data folder mods alone will enable it, though i could be mistaken on that part.



There's your default one, but i inverted the colors, font's white by default, for visibility.



And there you can see where i edited it.  Made the capital I have the horizontal lines, rather than look like a lower case L.  The changes reflect in game appropriately, making it easier on me.  So yeah, you can edit the default bitmap, but not like normal fonts.  You actually have to draw the font.  And each letter has a set space in the .dds file, if you exceed the selection range, then your letter will be clipped in game.  I don't know if you can increase the dimensions or something to increase selection range, or if there's a file to edit the dimensions for each individual selection.  So you probably can't make anything super fancy that'd still be legible in game.

You can always open the file in paint.net and use the font feature, type out your letters, get the size to be roughly similar to the originals, then just use the actual selection+resizing option rather than trying to get the closest font size through font features alone.  Just make sure you have the desired font installed.

Think that's all my knowledge on the matter.  Good luck messing with it.

i got question on the bold part

Make sure you have run the Client clean for any updates to HackShield or NexonGuard.
Extract the files from Abyss.rar and place them in your Mabinogi folder.
Run HSLaunch.exe; if you forget you will be prompted to run it when trying to log in.
Before updating your Client when there's an update, be sure to close HSLaunch.exe

Run the official launcher (Mabinogi.exe) when crackshield is closed.  That's all I've had to do so far.

Yes, you could try running it without the xml files... Remove the db folder, code folder, and local folder within ...\data\...

This should give you only the graphics parts of Tiara.  If you wish to make your own version for TW, you'll need to make your own versions of these folders otherwise.  Different client, so of course different files/localizations...

Best of luck.  Btw, these folders are often removed by many of us that are looking to run Tiara when there's a major update here for the NA client that "breaks" Tiara.  When we remove these folders, all seems to "usually" run just fine otherwise.  Then we just wait till the next major update of Tiara, or make our own.

My mirror is down for about a week. It'll return soon. It's good to see some of the mabinogi community still going strong on here. I've moved to minecraft mostly, but I'll be jumping on mabi once I get my windows pc back up and running
The "community" as it may be referred to has hit the toilet and been flushed permanently it seems.. sites like this and epvp are overrun with people too lazy to read or even search for a solution. I know that it's not any one person's fault but this is an issue that needs to be addressed, whether it be by an overhaul or just the complete disbursement of people. I am sick of answering the same questions over and over again. it's very disappointing to do. I come here and look at the newest posts and its mostly "I can't get mng's thread delay time right" or "how do I make X mod work" when there is a guide in the thread's op and answered about 39 times in as many pages. This site is headed down the path that lemu went down, it's depressing. Until the community takes a turn for the better I am not going to offer any more help. I'm going to focus on myself and my site. I will still lurk though...

this is abyss, dude.
Most people get both at the same time.  They get Tiara for the data folder mods.  Tiara would work for the mods (data folder) via Abyss reading that.  Otherwise for the most part no Abyss wouldn't work for TW because of the different dll involved version wise, etc.  Sometimes some of the mods in Abyss work, but it's hit or miss there. Also, my bad, I read into that about Tiara, presuming they had that as well as I mentioned above, for the mods.  Lately, they've been bundled as well.  (I was also tired when I responded, so probably didn't think it through coherently. Sue me I'm human. :D)  The data folder is often a culprit when it comes to many issues since Abyss reads from there.

I try not to devolve to that, but i think it's appropriate this time.

Anyone who thinks tiara and abyss is very likely a useless leech.  It doesn't take hardly any intelligence to realize that while they both modify the game, it's entirely different methods.  They both have mods the other don't as well.  If you can't realize that, you're just plain stupid and need to do some researching before shooting off at the mouth, so to speak.

Can someone see if this is happening to them too, With latest abyss while using default rangeswap to support shot then leaving auto combat on, my character freezes at random times. Like I can see the clock counting down, but I just freeze and have to restart client. Only happened after patch.

I just checked on this, and didn't have anything happen from the time of my last post until now. I was moving around and shooting things (pew pew pew). I still haven't seen what behavior you've described. I also did this in a busy channel.  To me this sounds like it's data folder related if you use Tiara perhaps or other mods? Usually this is a bad xml file (conflicting and out of date), and there were some skill updates.  This used to happen to me alot when I was using XML files related to skills that were out of date due to the client updates (before I knew how to build/update mods of any sort).

I've had this happen several times before and it's usually data folder related. That'd be your first step... Also, please make sure you're running Mabi and HS with admin privileges.  I'm using 8.1 myself.  This behavior has also happened on my Windows 7 laptop, and the cause was the same.
