Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

Contrary to what appears to be popular belief, nexon doesnt give 2 flying freaks about the doki doki self click crash. The crash they are refering to, and watching for, was a systematic Crashing of channels 2,3,5, and 6, where all 4 channels went offline for almost an hour. THAT is what they are pissed about.

Just a side note, I wasn't able to launch Mabi with the new version of Abyss. I had to put an old version of the .dll back in for it to load.

It wasn't that I'd get an error or that Mabi would crash. It just wouldn't launch. I forgot to save a copy of the log for abyss to share what it did. It didn't go through the whole normal process that the log usually shows though. Think about 6 lines in the log. If you want, I can re-do it again to verify.

I did have to install vcredist_x86.exe. I even tried rebooting afterwards though it didn't seem to need it. I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit.

Though, I just double checked the download page and noticed a footnote for Windows 8.1.

For Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2, KB2883200 (available through Windows Update) is required.

So I'll go check and see if I have that and then report back after installing it if needed.

The anticrash is the dokidoki one?

If so, it is a little awkward that the exploit is both facilitated by and fixed by Abyss, allowing the abusers to crash others without crashing themselves.
It should be just like any other time. Don't around around blurting out you use mods or be overly obvious and you should be fine.

[EDIT] Complete reinstall of game and mods fixed it.

A quite a few people have had issues with Hackshield giving them errors, kicking them off the game after a couple minutes, or just straight up closing them out.

Right now, this fix will aid:
Code 1; 0x00000001
Code 1; 0x00000200 and
              0x3000ffff

Go into your Mabinogi folder.

C:\Nexon\Mabinogi\HShield

And run this "HSUpdate.exe"

After you do that, in the same file path, go to \update

And run "autoup.exe"

All of this without Crackshield turned on.

And it will fix your crashing problem and error codes.


Try this fix out FIRST before you do anything, even if it isn't the same error code.

My CrackShield is crashing for some reason. It says "Error occurred during initialization. [Code: 5, Result: 0x00000200]". This normally works find the for a while after I first put mods in, but then it always seems to happen after a while.

Also, I checked the other thread about how to fix it, but I don't have the "autoup.exe".

Edit: I think I fixed it by running HSUpdate.vbs and then datapacking it again. Or maybe I just got lucky? xD

I can play with Tiara installed but not Abyss.  I updated the Vdist and tried both the hackshield updaters, which ran just fine.  My error is not with crackshield, which appears to be running fine.
With abyss installed as soon as I launch the client I get a generic windows error: "Mabinogi has stopped working"

Honestly, i'd be all for like a 7 day ban/mute or w/e, if someone can post their error code, you can search for that error code on here or google, and the fix(es) can be found within the top 5 threads.  I say 7 day cuz normally those who post such errors are lurkers anyway and 7 days isn't gonna be a big deal.  But most of us do tend to slip up now and then, such as when we're tired or stressed, and post duplicate threads and such now and then as well.  For the more regular posters, that's annoying but still tolerable.
Same rule goes for people posting a vague error/problem so that you'd play 20 questions and they would claim that they didn't know how to troubleshoot or what-not.  I'm not very tolerant of people picking at technicalities when the intent of the rule is obvious.



But, that seems a little control freak, even if it suits me.  In interest of being fair and showing an effort to help those who at least glanced at the stickies, yes a 'master error' thread or such would be a nice thing.  Honestly though, even if you put a reference to the thread in the side news, with big red letters, i personally don't expect it to cut back too much.  I'm not a mod though, thankfully, and don't bother to track over half of the stuff that goes on here on this site, so my impressions may be a bit off.  Is it too much to say sucks to be you towards the staff, with full good-spiritness intended?

Hehe, 8.1 isn't as bad as I was expecting. It's still got some quirks that will hopefully get ironed out or I'll find some 3rd party solutions to. I'm half running it as a test for work as well.

I put forth no grumpiness in reference to that message. The reason I added that and worded it the way I did is to give a fair warning so that people don't simply wonder what happened if it does. The reason I specified removal instead of merging is because there were already several threads at the time of the initial merge, therefore merging more first posts in would severely disrupt the continuity of the thread. The best solution in this case would be to remove the excess threads.

In terms of warnings for non-researched posts, the moderation guide does specify a sequence of (increasing for each offense) 5% warning, 10%, 15%, 20%, 3 day suspension, and then 7 day suspension.
E = mc² actually stands for Enjoyment = (Modifying the Client)². The more Mods you have, the Enjoyment increases exponentially.

I did try using the HSUpdate, it didn't fix anything. That's why I posted in here, granted I should have said that before.
And I for one actually like the idea of a thread devoted to fixes and errors and etc. If my vote counts for anything.
Also on a random note when I see my posy count of 500+ I question when the hell I posted 500 times.
Then I see playtime's 10k posts... And I question the meaning of life.

Oh, that'd make sense.  Just saw windowpositionX and assumed all the positions were the default positions of the window when it first opened, meaning i'd be able to move it later, so didn't even give it any further attention.  Will fool with it next time i'm on then, thanks.
