Another way around this, and I'm not sure if this will work, I believe it should since rain effects are universal.
Find someone with a Homestead that fits what you need rain for i.e. herbs/tailoring/blacksmithing (since all of these things can be added to homesteads) and go to Metus, and then go to that homestead.

Homesteads weather effects are dependent on the place the user entered from, as long as that user is the first to enter the homestead.

Since Metus is always raining, you enter Homestead from there, and you get your rain effect.
Just a suggestion.

Rain doesn't carry from the outside into the homestead, the weather in a homestead changes every 5 minutes as long as all players inside leave. Furthermore, the weather of a single homestead can be different on different channels.
So going to Metus doesn't really change anything. I was just in Dunbarton changing channels for about 15 minutes and I got a thunder homestead.

I'm not sure about other production and gathering, but the bonus to the number of herbs collected in a homestead with the weather bonus is less than that of base herbs in fields during thunderstorms and medium-strong rain.

Varies.  Like you mentioned previously, the value of the thunderstorm, or w/e everyone's calling it, determines the boost to both production and gathering from base herbs.  Bigger value, more output.

Think, in the field, it's like sunny=5, overcast=6, light rain=8, storm=9.  Not certain on that, but i remember that i did harvest 9 base herbs from a patch before moving on in dunby, yesterday during a storm.  Homestead is different, it's always a base value of 5 for each herb patch.  Nearby prop can add +1, does not stack, to the herb patch.  The weather can add +3 to the herb patch, ie only 2 weather patterns not 4, rain or sun.

If you only got 9 base herbs per patch during a thunderstorm, it's because someone else emptied that area not too long ago and it hasn't completely refilled itself yet.

IIRC the base amount of herbs resets instantly, but yeah the bonus herbs don't and take time to rebuild up to the max.

So, I've recently moved my mabi folder from the default location, reinstalled it in a new location, and reinstalled abyss (extracted) and tiara (setup.exe) to the same place.... When trying to run crackshield, I keep getting:

Error occured during initialization.

What does this error mean, and how can I fix it, please?

Yeah uh, If my computer randomly shuts off due to overheating, when i log back in and try opening crackshield i get this error:



Only way to really fix it that i know of is re-installing mabinogi. Is there any other way to resolve the problem.
Already tried replacing the abyss files with new ones but it still doesn't work.

Update Hackshield.

C:\Nexon\Mabinogi\HShield\HSUpdate.exe
then in the same folder go to
\update\autoup.exe

or something along those lines.

Make sure Crackshield is turned off, blah blah.

Thank you Ninja.  I'm stupid and obviously couldn't realize that the Hshield folders in the newly installed clean Mabi folder and the Modded Mabi folder were not the same when autoup.exe said it couldn't update the files because the files did not exist or something...  Here, have an upvote and a cookie.

I actually saw your post after I posted that fix, that fix was for Derp, but it did work for you aswell?

I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong blade, but for me if you reload the .ini you crash, and /commands are just trivial (hates remembering things) when you can just right click the icon on your taskbar and turn off/on mods there.

Thats always worked for me, (.ini reload doesnt, never has for me).

I don't  understand what icon you're clicking in the taskbar. Rightclicking crackshield doesn't give any options, and rightclicking mabinogi doesn't show anything relevant.

I've been unable to confirm this, but I think you just have, did you install Abyss through ShaggyZE's Tiara Installer.

I've heard rumors/tried to help friends that when you did install via Tiara that the Abyss ingame toggle options don't work i.e. right clicking Mabi and finding "Abyss Patches" or right clicking (in windowed mode) the top part of the window and finding the same thing.

If this is the case, and you did install Abyss via Tiara.

Re-install both separately, then try again - yes I know this is a hassle but it works for me, and that is how I did it. Just humor me.

And sorry for my Prof, he is a troll, and I hope he is reading this right now.

I have always installed abyss separate from Tiara, to ensure I have the most current edition.
Is there any chance you could take a screenshot to show me exactly what you're clicking to bring up this menu you speak of?

I can do so after class, yes.
It'll be about 2 hours before I can do so though.

Its similar to activating multi-client without having the directlaunch.exe; you right click the taskbar icon of Mabinogi, then you'll see a list

"Launch Client"
"Pin to Taskbar"
"Close"
------------
"Abyss ?Launcher?"


or the other way is windowed mode

At the top, where it gives the application name, (says Mabinogi in the upper left hand corner) right click that, and you'll see the Abyss thing there aswell.

I'm not sure if you have to have previously turned it on in the .ini but it's there.

In addition to slash commands, there is a menu if you right-click on the Mabinogi window. Not within the Client area obviously.

just to crush all these rumours i'll go head and say installing abyss from uo tiara will always give you the latest version of it, and the right click options will also work fine, as they do with me, but not all the options can be enabled/disabled live and will crash you.

Can you tell me what ones? I thought I fixed ReloadINI a while ago so I figured enable/disable of all mods worked fine now.

Easily, but I doubt they even really care. When you log in there's a packet that send your internal IP along with some other ID's like hardware ID's, not sure on the specifics of what is what. I would say it's safe to use anyway and I use it on occasion; when I need to.

I was wondering if it would be possible to make abyss patcher's CPU reduction on minimize work with this? http://rbtray.sourceforge.net/

Right now it doesn't work. The CPU usage stays the same as if not minimized when I send Mabinogi to the system tray using that program.

Did you try minimizing it before sending it to the tray?
