Hey Blade/other coders, remember back in the old days *nogi patchers had an option to really turn off the music? Mabinogi always plays music, even on zero volume - which seems a waste, so I wonder if you can make this patch now?
Besides - you even added such useful features that allow to change patch options on the fly, so this could be really an in-game feature (which is in 99% games by default for god' sake).

I suppose it's not possible to make this automatic?.. I mean when you turn volume to zero Abyss would really turn the music off and when volume is greater than zero - music starts playing again.

I found an old src for the mute sound, Since it was an ez mod I remade it in a flash in mod_shaker format

Except for mimic targeting. Actually I don't know Blade's opinion about this one in particular, because he seems to have a policy of sorts about Abyss being a tool for more comfortable gameplay, not cheating. So the question is "is it considered a cheat and if no - can it be implemented in modern client?"

It's a very tedious patch to find. Any kind of reference to the edit finds a ton of similar things. That's why this hasn't been implemented before.

A little bit of both. Mabi has it's own text coding when it comes to bitmap. In TTF It's not a problem because I have a lagless 20mb ttf font that contains almost every single unicode character ever in computers. Korean, Russia, Hebrew, Arabic. You name it it's there.

I do prefer bitmap however and my small imaginary OCD keeps appearing when I keep seeing the question marks on my edited interface.english, So that's why I'm very tempted to unlock full bitmap.

Never remember seeing the volume control gray. Someone really hates music~ Then again, This game is actually playable for the Disabled (Deaf) so it kinda makes me smile to see that.

Haha wut?

You can just delete the whole MP3 folder if you want to and mabi would still work

I actually want that for a long time. But there's at list one problem besides the enabling different locales.
Have you seen how the font file is organized? It doesn't look like your normal font file table and more - look at all non-capital characters in upper section. Some of them are shifted on Y axis. But in-game the renderer draws them correctly like it was simple "get a char from x:y and place it". What do you think about that?

I like everything to be configurable (that's why I'm here in the first place) and it has to actually work, not pretend that it's all done (I'm talking about default "still playing even on zero").
Besides have you ever been to Dun? What music? Non-stop interrupting of it from instrument players? That's music alright, ha.
Which also reminds me of another question - if you technically mute instrument playing would game still interrupt BGM when someone does it?

Was that a question? Music is "Stream", but actually in-game "environment" is also controlled by music slider. You can mute them separately? That would be great actually - to mute music and still have environment effects. Like I said - can you make all those like options?

You're not very wrong here. Music and sounds are alright, but replacing some textures (of big objects at least) with zero ones can make the game go on a huuuge lag. Maybe something about resizing algorithm.
And if you replace WMV's with zero files - the game will freeze. So you need to make some empty WMV in proper format if you want to do something like that. But in most cases it doesn't help much - a lot of movie-playing apparently has timers without an option to exit (all Shakespeare ones at least), so if you made one-second movie with a black screen or some picture - prepare to look at it all that time.

Could the on-screen white text be moved?  Everything from "Welcome to Dunbarton" to the info text about music buffs just gets in the way.  It messes with stuff when I'm trying to dye (it goes over the interface), it doesn't go away if I hide the UI, etc.  Even moving it near the top of the screen would be nicer.

I don't know if I remember correctly, but Noji party used to allow that white banner to change it to something else.

X and Y axis are not a problem anymore. Considering how I already fixed it for Abyss when the bitmap patch was cutting the top part of the letters.
I'm not talking about global shift (by the way your patch is not very good in some parts of interface, so I still prefer just 1 pixel shift in dds itself. not perfect, but I ~90% got rid of the cut top), I'm talking about this:


It's the fact that enabling it and enabling the renderer to load the image is the issue. See the game likes to make those special characters as "?" On purpose. Lets say I boot the game up in Japan mode and I type in Kana. If I change part of the code to say "No, this can only be loaded on USA" then it instantly changes all of my Kana characters to "?". In USA mode it's a bit different, I can tell the client "Hey load this in USA" and the client will accept it, but all of my question marks will appear as blank. I need to find a way to make renderer load the Kana image as well but I haven't gotten a clue. Not even tracing helps me. All the coding is already there and done, To enable it is the hard part.

My goal is to unlock the full official bitmap by devcat's standards. Obviously I dont think devcat has ever made Cyrillic characters in bitmap form ever. I just want to unlock the CJK, Since that's all devcat has made.

and Asian Bitmap is on all clients.

That's nice. So it supports russian too?
On your first image it looks like random garbage - some symbols are cropped from the side and even mixed with Greek ones.
Correction - 3rd string seems to be part of Greek and 4th - real part of Russian alphabet in capital letters (АБВГДЕЁЖЗИЙКЛМН and then more "wasted" part of this string looks like the end of it too). 4th string seems to be second half of Russian alphabet in non-capital letters. But again for some reason very cropped from sides.

But if you managed to make the second image then maybe you are right (and the symbols are not cropped and look fine). And you see, that's why I was asking about that Y-shift of some symbols - on your second image some symbols are shifted without (or with very little) correction.
Like an ancient mechanic typewriter.
Well of course it would be not bad to have it functioning even like this - still a valuable accomplishment.

Also keep in mind that ~Cyrillic alphabets of different Slavic languages differ from each other (and by the way some relatively Slavic ones are now using Latin). So I'm wondering if it can do properly some Ukrainian or Belorussian for example. After finding working Russian in it - who knows.

Disable all mods. Check if the problem persists. If it doesn't still happen, start enabling the mods until you find out which is problematic.

Sorry, I'm new so how exactly would I start disabling? Would I go to Abyss.ini and toggle everything to 0?

Oops, forgot to get rid of that top thing. It's not implemented since it was only causing problems..

You check the first post for troubleshooting?

you can delete that whole secion

have you tried updating hackshield by running C:\Nexon\Mabinogi\HShield\HSUpdate.exe? make sure CrackShield (HSLaunch.exe) is closed when you do this.
