I Know there's a red lightning mod by Pinksys' but can someone mod it into a black lightning mod?

Isn't it just a DDS? You just get GIMP or PS, with the DDS plugin, and, just make it dark.
Save.
Done.

It's that simple.

If you can't find where the DDS file is stored, just download Pinksys' one, edit that, and put it in the right file directory.

So where are DDS file mods supposed to be placed? if they even are supposed to be placed somewhere. Not familiar with DDS files.

Well i know all you gotta do it re color the lighting. i dunno how to open the .dds file. I will study this so later on down the line i will make multi color ones.

@ZAEKU In reply, yeah, you are lazy. You only have to open the DDS file, with one of the programs I told you about, and colour it another colour. THEN SAVE IT. :O

You don't want to do something that is ridiculously easy and so you ask for someone else to do it = Lazy.

That simple.

@doodoo, put it in the folder that it came from, for instance, if you opened the pack files with the unpacker. Pinksys' one should come in the right folders anyway.

Tbh state, I wouldn't bother, if he can't be bothered to download GIMP or photoshop and do it himself, you'll end up having to put it in the right folders too.

Know this is probably off topic, but thanks ZAEKU, I've been trying to edit colors on pmg without pmg viewer because Im missing some DLL, and that helps alot

What helps? Its just a picture you know, not a model. The lightning/fire/ice effects are just pictures in another format, called dds. This is why I'm saying "just recolour it yourself", because all they have to DO is download a program, and do it.

Just like using paint. Well. It's literally like using paint, but with another program instead.

Also, you can't edit anything with the viewer ._.
It just views things.

Heads up, the Gimp Registry is down, You can't get the DDS file from there, could anyone upload it? I went searching through live yahoo and google, and all sites had the same link "Go to this site -same broken link-"

He said get Gimp or Photoshop, if you can't find direct draw surface plugins, then just get photoshop trial, I mean after all you're only trying to edit one thing; black lightning

x.x i got a GIMP plug in and tried it =\
It opened up as an image file...
but i tried colouring the lightning black
the problem is that i can't make it into a lightning shape... or it blends in with the back ground??
not sure can someone help me (first time using this stuff =_+)

There's an even easier way of doing this. Paint.net (it's a program, not a website, for those of you that don't know) can open DDS files without addons or having to convert them or anything. Open up the common_effect.dds and effect_add_dxt1.dds (data/materials/fx/effect), select the lightning related images. You can then go to adjustments, and then mess around with it. Hue, for example, lets you change the lightning's color quite easily, since it only changes the colored parts, and leaves the black and white sections alone.

Eh I think we got a guide on how to change the bolt spell colors...but saying your lazy yourself and not trying at all says some people wont help at all
