Range Animations.

g01 is bow
g02 is crossbow

What is G04? (Just curious)

Elves use all of the animations for human range. Except run friendly/offensively, and walk friendly/offensively, right?

So exactly what is the animation difference in elf and human range, apart from skill loading speed?

And why does it lag for elves? because you load in the middle of the animation still playing because it's supposed to take 0.8 seconds for human range, and it's only 0.3 for elves?
Magnum works just fine, and that only takes 0.5 seconds for elves, where it's supposed to take 1.5 seconds for humans.

Or is it something like wiki says:

Couldn't i just edit the keyframes for the aiming/shooting animation in 3ds and make them only 0.3 seconds long, creating a pseudo elf-lag fix?
Or does it HAVE to be done through dlls. Changing it to AR means only playing the Animation once, right?

I think, g04 was the Confetti bow, or Toy Bow. Not too sure.

Edit:

So just to screw around, i replaced the ranged aiming and shooting animation with the ones for magnum. it sorta works, but it behaves the same way as magnum.
ie. it doesn't let you start loading the skill again till after your character starts standing up after releasing the shot. it doesn't have the elf lag, but it's slower than it should be.

I already used the crash shot anim because someone else already did that, and it just lags the same way normal range does.

It's from animations apparently.

Sometimes you shoot fine, other times you can't release a shot, or it takes about forever to load.
Not latency based, it just doesn't let you shoot.

Changing the Animations to AR in Skill.dll gets rid of it.
I'm trying to find some way to do that (Without doing that) through the data folder.

As an elf you should be able to shoot once every 0.3-0.4 seconds, assuming 0.3 for load time, and 0.0-0.1 for latency/aim time. or about 3 times a second, regardless of accuracy.


I've also heard some people say it has to do with the graphics card you use, but i have 3 Sapphire HD 6990's so that can't be the case, right? :|

We had one idiot awhile ago insult 3-4 members, staff included because we told him his piece of crap underclocked alienware meant nothing on this subject.
He has been banned for that now, very heavy harassment to staff and other users.


That aside, now my question, why not just swap the .ani's or edit the xml's?
Why use .dll's?

I was talking about the graphics cards cause i thought it was funny someone would even think it had something to do with it. And Alienware (Dell) IS crap. My machine is not, but that's another discussion for another time.

There isn't a .ani for AR. that's the thing. it just uses normal human ranged .ani, which is normal elf range .ani.
I'd have to say the same thing about any xml's but i'll go see if i find any.

No i know how. I just prefer not to screw with dll's among other things anymore. After you can do ANYTHING, you kinda either just wanna play the game, or work to find other ways to do things.

Plus i cbf to find/make a bypass even if i wanted to use other things. I only ever did Dll's and a few special mods. i never did work with patchers or bypassing.

Data folder mods only for me.

I could most likely get the edit done for you, but of course, there all those other complications that come along with it...  It's sometimes just not worth bothering with it at all.

If you're set on using the data folder, I'd gladly help you out in trying to find a fix, I've created my own custom data folder, so I'm no stranger to digging through all that. :)


Yeah, elf AR I've seen it elsewhere, I forget what it was... Was it the RP AR? Blah, I don't remember :(

No i'd rather not bother with those kinds of mods anymore. I've washed my hands of them.

Random Side note: Did you see the Elf AR? It doesn't take the same amount of AP as AR, so I'm assuming it's Elf AR. It has the same load times, etc though.

And sure i'd love help. I honestly can't believe no one's though of trying to do this through the data folder. but hey, maybe they have and i'm being a derp.

Yeah, there was an RP that has a separate version of AR, which manually stacked arrows.

Now that I go back and check your code, I've found the stacks, so it can't be that, however I know I've seen this posted somewhere before... Hm...

As for it being done before, I have 7589 posts, I don't even remember the last 10, let alone all 7000 of them, so I couldn't tell ya if this has been tried before :(

You should see some of the people I deal with.
I decided to go out of my way to create master-guide to modding, which contained guides on how to use, create and edit every type of mod or file, it's already over 20 pages long, not even counting the images in it.

Someone makes the stupidest post humanly possible, then when I go to yell at him, it turns out he didn't even READ THE GUIDE before asking how to do something.  Fun fact, guide's name is, in all caps, "READ THIS FIRST!"

I was looking through a few things, didn't have much time though, just dug through several XML files, nothing I've found.

I am still like 99% certain this requires that there dll editing, but since I'm curious and nobody has proven it's impossible this way, I shall continue looking! :)
