Just input for the sake of input, please do not change the houses, Tara is lonely as it is in town without even the houses being gone....would be too creepy and barren. Though I suppose if I dislike it I can just disable that part if you implement it.

It sounds plausible, but since it's not used, I'm guessing it only changes the animation (visual) of your range, whereas your actual archery is still elf-type, just looks different. Which is why people use the patchers to activate this 'elf-lag-fix'.

If you guys can, dumb it down a bit on what cause the mod not to work after the few unschedule maintenance. I'm not lookin for the day where the modder can finish updating a new mod, just whats going on. Thanks.

Sorry, I thought you meant you were trying to mod using .xml, guess not.

To dumb it down, elf lag fix doesn't work at the moment because the bypass doesn't work.
Editing the the visuals won't give the same effect because it's only visual.

If people would stop posting their spam of stupidity, you'd know that tiara works completely fine, the patcher is broken and removed, tiara is back as it should be now, just a data folder.

It contains the data packer to enable the mods, it even puts everything in the right spot for you, all you have to do is run the packer and hit find>modify.

basically yes, tiara is just a compilation of data folder mods that can all be done/enabled with data packer.exe

and as for the dll mods like 'elf lag' its becoming increasingly more difficult for me to fix the bypass as time goes on for windows xp anyway that i feel ill equipped and don't want to release a half a$$ed version for only windows 7.

and this is truer then most people know, before tiara included each file in that right place for patchers and now everything is it both places good for patchers and data packer due to language.pack being picky about placement where patchers are not.

note: that i made this change to tiara even before i added the patcher because that's the way i had it with autobot so that data packer.exe would always be the best option when dll mods break.

Thread/forum is for people to discuss and ask questions. As you can see i'm a new member that just join the forum and I'm quite new to using mods. I ask a sincere question cuz I want to find out and learn about it more. I did not spam asking where is my mod or why the modder taking so long to release. If the thread starter themself dont get irritate with certain people and their question; then you definitely dont have the right to tell them not to post their curiousity.

i somewhat agree that regardless of what people/moderators/fans/and trollers say that restraint/vacations should be taken if said spam/garbage gets to be too much, but i regret to say i have the patience but not the time to appreciate everyone so again i appreciate the support given to help deal with the problems but wish it could be dealt with; with a little more patience an understanding.

and as it is just because i don't get irritated does not mean i have the right to moderate or control these forums based off of the rules provided so we all have something to abide by regardless of what i may let slip by; rules are the rules and the people that enforce them should have the respect of doing it as well as they do; else you can go elsewhere where my mods are not supported by me.

Hi,

This is my first post.... I have read the comments and what not about not reading so I did my research and went back a few pages to where it was relavent. However I did not find my question nor did I find my answer. So here is my problem,

I can logg in just fine. I get to my character selection screen and i try and logg in. It starts loading but then it just freezes. I tried starting it by rebirthing, got to the rebirthing area and clicked cancel to get to the game. still froze right before i got to the actual game.

If you could look into this that would be awesome
If by my stupidity there was a comment about this and i missed it I'm sorry, And if you could redirect me that would be appriciated.

we may need to do a team viewer session to pinpoint the data folder mod that's causing you to freeze.

Pardon my Noobness, but how would you go about pinpointing the data folder that freezes? and if its any help it freezes right as the loading bar finishes. The banner for the events even shows up and freezes. Hope that helps more. And if a team viewer session is needed Ill be sure to download it.

Might be maps, might be items, might be sprites within the current map, hundreds of possibilities.

Okay, to pinpoint the problem, you should try this:
1. Open up Data Packer, and remove mods, close Data Packer.
2. Go into your 'data' folder and cut or delete the folder 'db' elsewhere/recycle bin
3. Open Data Packer, 'Find' and 'Modify' mods, close Data Packer.
4. Go into Mabinogi and try logging in.
If it works, great! You've found that something in the 'db' folder is causing the problem. If you still crash, then repeat steps 1~4 except cut/delete the other folders in the 'data' folder one by one, trying to log in each time after cutting/deleting a folder. You can tell which folder is causing the problem because once you're able to play properly, then it means the folder you just cut/deleted was the problem.

Now, once you've found out which folder is the problem, go into the folder (if you deleted it, restore it via Recycle Bin) and then delete the files or folders one by one again. Basically do this for all sub-folders until you find out EXACTLY which file is causing the problem. Delete the file and you can play properly, but you should also tell Shaggy which one it is, so he can fix it up and in the next update it'll be fixed (probably).

P.S. If PT wants to add to guide, sure, you're gonna need alot of editing though since this was just quickly typed up.

I imagine just replacing the textures for the houses with white, single-pixel squares would do the job quite nicely. You'd still get the shape of the buildings, but they'd just be block-white and probably load a lot faster.

when i use the mods im able to log onto my giant and human wich are my alts but for some reason im unable to log onto my elf wich is my main character.... do u know wats causing this?

pretty sure this was only possible with dll edits, but suppose it couldn't hurt to search the xml's; so i'll check.

you may have a newer item on your main and using an outdated itemdb.xml that's causing you to crash upon log in.

Ill try removing the mods then taking all the items on my character off then retrying. it also doesnt do this when i try rebirthing :/

Easier way, unpack mods, delete itemdb.xml, pack mods. Log in.
