News

Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

check if you have a patcher (dbghelp.zep,dbghelp.dl_,dbghelp.orig,dbghelp.dll) if you have them delete them

like many others i have not had the time to fix the existing MNG/ZEP patching dll to give a proper and public version, and the ways i have tested are not showing too much promise with windows xp/vista versus working slightly okay on windows 7; so until i get it to be fully compatible i won't release it, but i also don't have enough experience to start one from a fresh start yet so i imagine it is going to be a long wait this time around so people need to get use to cutting their losses and to use data packer.

Edit:
i haven't given up but as time passes its seeming more unlikely i'll have a version i'm satisfied with that will cause limited problems and be easy to understand with any operating system.

We should all understand that this is/was going to be very difficult. People are just being difficult and are being to reliant on mods. I understand it helps enjoy the game but how about we all take the time to just ENJOY the game y'know? Let the tech's work on the work and release it when it's fully ready.

Seems like shaggy is getting more people reliant on him. I haven't seen a word of thanks other than for when a problem is fixed.

So what did they do to break the previous one?
Not that I especially understand the intricacies of it, but I'm curious nevertheless...

I guess even if you did get something working about now, the fact that the game has been getting a lot of random patches lately doesn't make things especially easy.
Its cool that you're trying, anyhow.

From what I understand most mods should be working.
 It's the bypass that's broken,
and that's a huge one obviously. So it will take some time to fix.

I haven't been using dll mods in a while, and I'm getting the same error as CowBreast.

If I remove my mods from the packer, everything works; it's my guess that something in the data folder is causing the crash, possibly from an older mod. I'll look in to it further.

the outdated xml's are most likely race.xml or itemdb.xml since they are no longer being updated in uo tiara because of an alternative method that causes less crashes when outdated.

I don't understand how people manage to have an outdated race.xml, it's been said to delete it since around R85 UO Tiara came out.

yea, that's why i used the words "phased out" since R85 because i figured if nothing else their are those that stop playing mabi for a few months and not come here to read about any changes made so by the time they do the recent posts would be talking about something different, but it is on the first post to delete these two xml's still.

and i didn't want to overwrite these files with nexon's updated version or force delete them.

Force deleting them would be so much easier than answering the same question 100 times.

yea that's true, but if you haven't noticed i don't mind answering the same question over and over again; its everyone else that gets aggravated and posts in big letters and change their font to red.

plus i feed on feedback so i learn how to handle all the modding situations and how to fix and improve things quicker and hopefully more efficient/stable if given enough feedback.

unfortunately i'm still learning and can't be a one person band so i thank everyone for the support they help with; playtime and penguin eater being the people i thank the most.

PE is still a huge script writer, and can edit any XML he feels like, if anything, I think managing tiara was just crippling his abilities.

Now, as for this,

I see it, I look on the first post, and the 10 previous posts.  If I see the answer there, posted in a non-confusing way... A warning is issued for failure to research before asking.
I'm honestly tired of yelling at people.

Also, Shaggy,  since you're the one who is managing tiara as of now, and since we're no longer speaking of the old files you took out, we're now onto new issues.  I think you should place a quick reference in your signature.  People clearly can't read anything on the first, I've experienced this with my guide, however those same people managed to find my signature was a link. (Who's Online page, I love it)

Im not sure if this would be within the capability of this mod or if its already inside of it I havent used tiara ever since they took out the elf lag fix out of it but would would a visual mod like switching the elfs range attack animation for the humans arrow revolver or range attack animation work or would something like that always require a working patcher?

I'm not 100% sure if this is the correct answer to your question. From what i read above, the mod should be working fine; its the bypass that is messed up? If I'm wrong, please correct me.

All the visual aspects of unofficial tiara are still in place. The bypass that had the mods such as CP viewer, zoom, etc. are all broken. There is a way to get the visual mods to work without a patcher however, and that is through the usage of data packer. This should be located in your C:\\Nexon\Mabinogi. To use the data packer you install unofficial tiara, run data packer (may need to be ran as an admin), click find (A large list of changes should pop up), and finally modify.

It sounds plausible, but since it's not used, I'm guessing it only changes the animation (visual) of your range, whereas your actual archery is still elf-type, just looks different. Which is why people use the patchers to activate this 'elf-lag-fix'.

I usually stay silent, but in this time where everything's broken, I wanted to say something to address those who are working hard for mass enjoyment.

Thank you. In spite of all the stupid questions, impatience, and failures of basic common courtesy, someone always steps up and takes the reins for however long, keeping the mods afloat for little to no personal reward. It's these people that deserve respect and understanding more than anyone else here. And the biggest way we can show that appreciation is to take up as little of their time as we can and simply say thanks whenever we think of it. All told, if we can spend hours refreshing a page to check if our question's been answered, we have the time to read through a few pages of replies. You can even make it easier on yourself; follow your favorite mod threads every day, keep up with it so it doesn't become overwhelming. Be a community that gives back by being supportive of these guys and gals' efforts.

That's all I have to say. I'll be returning to my corner now.

Not everything is broken, but yes, people should keep up with the threads of the mods they use, and yes the modders should be thanked for using up their own time to help the community.
