The new wind guard is live on Mabi, and the new event box is translated as well, though.  For some reason, installing the Tiara patch reverts the windguard change and makes the box reference an xml file.

live on mabi? as in a video? i know the giant patch is live else there would be no reason to update today... is it working without tiara mods? you didn't really explain clearly.
they can make video's or images during their update and still fail to include the update properly, they even manage to revert files themselves after an update at times, so that doesn't guarantee anything.

they didn't update skillinfo.xml and most likely the way that skils reacts is server sided so not sure how installing mods can even revert it back to the old windguard, they usually replace/update a skill not make a new one, so will have to track down what is causing it, but uotiara does touch some translations, but since i didn't do the update or testing you'll have to wait for Draconis to provide a fix or tech support if necessary or narrow down the file/mod causing it on your own for now.

Okay, so new wind guard is working in vanilla Mabi with the new patch.  Everything is translated correctly as well.  But when I install the new Tiara, for some reason the new windguard updates dont apply.  Ie, I can't walk with wind guard, switch weapon, spam charge or gfs etc.  The icon for GFS lights up like you can use it tho but you can't use it.  It's just the same old stand in one place with more defense.  Oh, and the new event item is just an xml reference but I that's not particularly game breaking.

k, thank you for explaining better, deleting the data\db, data\local, and data\xml folders will most likely fix the issue for now until a fix is provided.
Edit:
though it only looks like uo tiara mods 12 of the files that were updated in 257, none of which should cause such behavior so would have to actually log in to test each folder/file or wait until other people report having or not having the issue to see if another outdated mod your using is causing the problem.

I removed only the db folder from the data folder and it seems to have fixed it.  Haven't tested which individual file is causing the problem though.

I got kicked out of mabi from using Tiara. Anyone know which mods to turn off for this patch?

only one file that tiara mods "sometimes" triggers NGS and that's features.xml.compiled in the "Risky Mods" section, otherwise if you have MabiPacker or DataPacker open it will also trigger NGS and if Abyss isn't updated to avoid NGS it can trigger it.

FWIW, I'm using said "Risky Mod" features.xml.compiled with no issues.  However, I realize some may have issues.

if you install features.xml.compiled with mabipacker then it deletes it from your data folder after making uotiara.pack ie no issue, however those that choose features and say data packer.exe may have issues

Can not get tiara to work with windguard, if I some how manage to get mabi to start up correctly. deleted folders in the data folder didn't not help any~

you may be using more then one install method, so make sure to delete uotiata.pack in your package folder too

Ok. I started over with a clean mabi, with just abyss windguard looks fine. Once I add tiaras data folder and pack it the game doesn't start get an error message. If I turn on use data folder to 1 on abyss and don't pack it starts up but it uses the old windguard, if I delete the folders you suggested it finally worked so I figured I would share my experience with the update.

odd thing is the only file they updated in \db\ is propdb.xml, so if something in \db\ is causing it, then it slipped by somehow like skillinfo.xml, and the files in \xml\ and \local\xml\ are just translation files that shouldn't affect windguard
and not sure what issue your having with .packs, but it could be related

Shaggy as well as myself checked the server side files as well to make sure, since many use Tiara, but they forget to mention which version.  The file that's the likely culprit is itemdb.english.txt under ..\data\xml and ..\data\local\xml. As far as the skill itself that's under the same 2 directories as skillinfo.english.txt.  We checked on this too, and there's no update of the skill related file under ..\data\db so... Pretty much if a file isn't in the packs when the updates are sent out from Nexon, or rather, if it doesn't exist in their's... Then we've no need to update ours.  There ya have it.  I'd recommend grabbing the pack or standalone version for those having trouble if you grabbed the other one.  Also if you are using "anything" aside from Tiara and aren't mentioning it, you'll want to do so.  We cannot effectively help otherwise.  I feel that's probably not the case here, just sounds like either packs if it weren't for the problem going away, or somehow you received a file out of whack.

So I took a small hiatus and came back, When trying to update, which because I just use the data folder mods from this without using Autobot or anything, updating means going to the site and downloading the full thing, and reextracting those mods. Its probably not the most simple way to do things. But thats not a huge problem for me. This most recent update anytime i try downloading from the site triggers my antivirus (Avast) I cant figure out what to exclude to allow it to work. I tried excluding the sites link but it didnt work, any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

the download url uses a cookie hash key so it changes every 2 minutes to prevent hot linking, you would have to add the domain with a wildcard, how about just disabling avast for a few minutes.

wait an hour or so for Draconis to update, you shouldn't be using outdated mods anyway as of course things are going to be broken due to using incomplete/outdated files, your lucky to even be able to login without it crashing and it doesn't help us to know what is broke until after we have updated and then yea it helps to find out from people like you what is really broke at that time.

whenever i try to take a Dan test and get into the room and press start my client just crashes,does anyone have an idea what it could be ? im using Tiara with abyss
