which method did you use to install your mods, you may want to download Abyss or Kanan manually or download uotiara.pack from uotiara download page and place it in the package folder.

At the moment there are 3 install methods and uotiara forces you to choose 1 with the installer, which are Abyss, Mabipacker and Datapacker (soon to be replaced with Kanan), so you'll need to provide information on which method you tried so that we can narrow down why the data folder is not being read.
Nexon Launcher is not the cause as it and the Steam Launcher are the only options as of right now.

Thanks for the prompt response. When I'm installing Tiara I see the three check boxes beside Abyss, Mabipacker and Datapacker. I just assumed I needed all three and hit the Next button. Once Tiara finishes it's installation the Mabipacker window pops up. I select Find, and then once Mabipacker presents a list I select Modify, close Mabipacker [which closes the installation wizard], then I open up the Nexon Launcher and login to find no changes have been made. That's what I've been doing for the past hour in between browsing different topics for answers. Didn't want to have to bug you guys. And I wouldn't otherwise but I can't figure this out.

okay try again without data packer,run data packer.exe first from the mabinogi directory and remove mods with it as it can have adverse effects, if mabipacker is working check if it created a uotiara.pack in the package folder of your mabinogi folder, also check to see if you have an Abyss log file that explaines why it didn't patch the readdatafolder mod and post that here or in the abyss thread.

I don't have an abyss log explaining why it isn't working. I've installed Tiara and have exited the Data Packer at the end of the installation in lieu of bringing it up in the Mabinogi folder. I select Remove Mods, then open the game. It's vanilla. I've uninstalled Tiara and am reinstalling Mabinogi now. Maybe that'll do something.

Alright I've re-installed Mabinogi in C:\Nexon\Library\Mabinogi\Appdata and now it works. Before it installed itself in C:\Nexon\Mabinogi\Appdata. I suppose that makes all the difference. Thank you so much for your assistance!

no problem, i would have gone through more things before reinstalling mabi and discovering it had something to do with the installation directory, so you fixed it yourself, nice job.

technically speaking Abyss, Mabipacker and uotiara should work from any directory as long as it's all in the same/correct place.

So rather than use Tiara as a full I opted to take what i needed and put it in the data folder, mainly cuz I already use Kanan standalone, and Abyss, and thats enough things goin on at once for me. My question is does the "Underground Maze Fog Removed" not work? I have it in my data folder but both Ant hell and Solea caves are still fogged..unless I'm misunderstanding what it does..is it not meant to remove fog from the mini map?

You probably have the old files.  I'd suggest grabbing the latest.

I grabbed the most recent version from the site and am still having the same issue, not tryin to be a pest, sorry if it seems so, I use DATA packer to pack my data file mods if that helps at all, i tested it in Solea this time..I have only moderate knowledge of dealing with mabinogi's packages so if i knew where to look for the file in the package files id cross reference to supply at least a little more info. Thank you for any help past, present and future.

Oh, i figured it out..it was because i wasnt extracting the remove iria dungeon fog mod too, I got it, just for a future reference for anyone, for it to work i guess you need both? or maybe you dont need the underground mod at all im not sure.

are you only grabbing undergroundmaze.xml?, i'm not sure exactly what area's underground maze tunnels is for anymore, but keyword being maze/tunnel it's not for the underground dungeon maps, so make sure you grab dungeon_ruins.xml, dungeondb.xml and dungeondb2.xml as well because those are the dungeon un-fogging files.

and i'd recommend using mabipacker or Abyss to apply your data folder mods as they are more reliable.

so im trying out this mod pack and so i have downloaded everything and done everything petty right but when i start the game this pops up, now i did make a folder of the file but nothing worked, but im guessing the file itself is missing does anyone have this file that i could put in or what can i do to help

chances are your antivirus or firewall prevented the download of Abyss you can download it from it's thread and install it manually [July 20, 2017]Abyss Patcher R255

Using Abyss+Kanan+Tiara Data folder mods, I'm having an issue where whenever i hover over a Pan balloon, the client is force closing. I assume this has something to do with the description loading..but I'm not sure. Sorry if this is in the wrong spot btw..any help would be much appreciated.
I'm inclined to believe its something in one of Tiaras data mods considering the nature of the crash.

It would appear that being anywhere near that one specific balloon blows up my client

Correction it is indeed just when hovering over it

have you tried renaming your data folder, or disabling uotiara to see if the crash is occurring with just Abyss+Kanan?

uotiara doesn't modify itemdb.xml which typically would be the file to cause a crash like this, and although it does edit some item names with itemdb.english.txt this file typically doesn't cause crashes, but instead would show gibberish or korean text

I removed kanan and it still happened, i removed abyss and its still happening. I did these one at a time. I will try removing the data folder and see if that helps.

Check your abyss.ini and see if you didn't write anything additional on it or any breaking thing. It's important. My game kept force-crashing while I opened inventory but remaking the .ini fixed it.

EDIT: Also try reinstalling Mabinogi. And deleting data folder.

still try removing just the data folder and leave abyss+kanan installed because they can conflict with eachother causing crashes too so you need to rule them out and by deleting the data folder you remove old mods that could be causing it and then use the latest uotiara.

I extracted then packed with Data packer.exe. Looks like I'll have to do a reinstall, a quick question, how exactly does abyss pack data folder mods. Not exactly the place for it but i wanna know cuz I've always used Data packer not understanding how abyss worked in that aspect

Has anyone tried using the updated 257 patch with a Giant?  For some reason, it makes me use the old windguard, and the new event box is not translated yet.
