I actually am not sure how to work with abyss, I accessing abyss with notepad and deleted font line but still no change.
Can you tell me how to disable a mod in abyss properly?

There's two bitmap options, look for the bitmap position fixed one too.

So... Uhm, I'm new to Mabinogi, and found the UI and graphics to not be very pleasing, so I came to Mabimods searching for SweetFX or something similar, and some mods for the UI or something like that.
Welp, coming here I discovered that Abyss, PowerPatcher, and Tiara are pretty much the go-to mods for Mabinogi, so I installed Abyss and PowerPatcher, but when I run the Tiara install program, I get the message "Error:\Client.exe was not found! Would you like to continue anyway?" and, well, I don't know what to do. (To be honest, I don't even know what PowerPatcher and Abyss do, but I'll figure it out soon enough, I hope)

When you run the installer you can continue and manually install to your Mabinogi directory.  However, when you run any programs related to Mabinogi for installation purposes, you always want to be sure you run as Administrator.  This is so the program has the necessary privileges and installs correctly.  Tiara doesn't do anything like HD or SweetFX/ENB, but is widely used due to convenience/ease of use features and lag reduction.  PowerPatcher is good for patching and fixing your client should any issues arise.  See that thread for more info.  DataPacker hasn't worked properly in awhile it seems probably due to offsets changing.  Abyss is great for loading Tiara from the data folder and the other features it has.  Please see the first page of that thread for any questions or concerns.  Tiara has a readme on the main site that you may want to take a look at as well.  On a final note avoid launching via Nexon's Launcher or the Steam one.  These revert/mess with files.  You'll want to make a direct launch shortcut, user MabiLauncherPlus, PowerPatcher's Launch ability, or MabiDirectLaunch mentioned in the Abyss thread.  Best of luck.

Check your packs and data folder.  There were 2 files that were out of whack from the ftp if you installed the optional features.

Probably a stupid question, but how do I utilise the autobot (need it for mass fossil restorations, and this'll be my first time using it). Unless there's no longer any sort of fossil restoration bot...?

I tried to use AutoBot to solve some fossils recently and was having trouble getting it to find any images. I took several screenshots attempting to get it to find the inventory window but it always seemed to fail. Maybe this has something to do with having multiple monitors or maybe it's a Windows 10 problem.

in a perfect world you would click on the fossil restoration tab and just click start, open the inventory manually or not depending on the options you chose and it should see the fossil or not, if you do start the cleaning process manually it also may or may not detect it until your rotate the screen to give it a chance to see the fossil due to subtle background changes however if it doesn't you will need to change channels in order to preserve the fossil and you can change the screen mode options in the settings tab or try changing your resolution, multiple monitors to single, color of the ui theme in mabinogi to blue or other visual aids to help detection.
if it's detecting it, but is off by one or two pixels then this should be remedied by changing the x and y offset values in restoration.ini and first and foremost be sure to run autobot with admin privileges regardless if you only have 1 current username, some people forgot that their is a hidden Administrative account and that virus's can and will create access errors.

also i plan to have more time the next few weeks at least so i will be upgrading and testing autobot to work better with the latest mabinogi, windows 10 and changes to uo tiara as far as a frontend goes as well as possibly the website, while i'm still going to need some ad revenue or another donation system, i will attempt to create another method to determine ad view succeeded, or maybe i'll get frustrated enough with complaints too just remove all the ads, fail to pay the $120 a year for my webhost and Draconis can have full right to do as he wishes with uo tiara while respectfully retaining the ideas and practices of the creator Amaretto and the mabimods community in which tiara belongs.

but unfortunately this isn't a perfect world so these next few weeks are going to be crucial that you get a hold of me with any and all bugs, suggestions or complaints so that i may refine, redesign or resign any ongoing projects.

Hi guys. It's been about a year since I last used Tiara/Abyss and decided today that I'd like to start using them again. I downloaded and installed the Tiara pack but I'm having an issue with Abyss. I tried searching the forum about this issue but couldn't find any information so I apologize if I overlooked information somehow.

I keep getting this message about my antivirus possibly blocking Crackshield. After the first time getting this message, checked MSE to make sure it didn't already have it listed as being blocked, which it didn't, then I disabled MSE and rebooted my pc, but I'm still getting the same popup. I have no idea what to do since MSE was the only antivirus program installed to my pc.



Now, I did read another post in this thread from March stating that Crackshield was no longer needed since Hackshield was being discontinued. So, I'm a little confused about why I get the pop up from Tiara if Crackshield is no longer needed. Do I need it or not?

EDIT: I just placed what I had into the Mabi folder like usual and started the client. Seems everything works fine. I'm still confused as to why I got that Crackshield pop up though if it's not even needed and assuming not in the pack any more? I gotta familiarize myself with the mod packs again.

no crackshield is no longer needed or included with abyss, that's an old error msg, basically iy means unrar.exe failed to downloa or it failed to extract abyss.rar so if you keeo having that issue install abyss manually or download the Offline version of the installer.

Just came back to Mabi after being gone for a year and a half, installed Tiara and now Client crashes when login screen appears. Have tried using the launcher bundled with Tiara and launching Client Manually, same result. Any ideas why this is happening?

Sooo... It gets stranger. After posting last night and playing for a while I exited and had the same issue getting back in (this is after I played for a couple hours on main account and checked several other accounts that my family and I use with no problems). I was able to get in by running the old Nexon launcher from the Appdata folder and letting it run a short patch (after which I received an "Installation Complete" message???), then re-modding the affected files with Data Packer. After these steps Mabi ran wonderfully, like seamless Wiz HM with full party going nuts and showing off most impressive skills kind of wonderful. Shut down PC for bed, wake up today, game won't launch again...WTF?! lol

Tried the steps that worked last night and no luck. Client won't even attempt to open whereas when I couldn't get in last night login would appear and crash. Totally at a loss atm but will keep tinkering around.

As a footnote, I run the game on a 50" display and 1440x900 resolution and have a serious issue with the font size being microscopic. I have to sit 2-3 feet in front of my Display to read any text in game. Is it possible to adjust font size when choosing fonts in the Tiara installer, and if not would it be possible to implement larger fonts for us high resolution players?

Edit- Feel a tad sheepish now. Temporarily disabling AVG allowed Client to launch perfectly. This seems very strange to me considering none of Mabi's files were flagged by it at all.

font size is not adjustable, but the different fonts are of different size, plus abyss's bitmap font or the use of the original font are options

In regards to my Client, every time I restart I have new problems. I was going to re-install but there is no option to uninstall Mabinogi in programs list. I'm starting to feel like there's some really fishy activity going on. Really don't like the new install setup with the game manager. I also don't have the uninstall for Tiara. Is that normal or is my install messed up?

it should be in the program list and start menu however i haven't tested it with windows 10 (presuming that is the os you use) it should be working with previous os's, so it's possible it isn't being added, i'll test it later tonight or tomorrow and post back my results if someone doesn't mention it sooner

I'm running Win 7 Ult x64. Never had issues before, but it is may worth noting that Abyss fails to extract. Tiara was in the prgram list, but when I tried to uninstall it said the program was not found. Could this be a result of the new file setup in the Nexon folder?

The uninstall for Mabi is part of the Nexon Game manager. It also has an option to repair. Just found it a few minutes ago

That's not an uncommon issue tbh.  I've had that issue in the past.  A third party program can typically uninstall it if you really want to though.  I use IO Bit's Uninstaller, think it's called.

Sounds familiar, I may have used it in the past. I should have went into programming instead of electronic engineering, would make the troubleshooting a bit easier. lol 

Gettting rid of the programs isn't an issue, I'm savvy enough to do it manually if need be, the issue for me is insatiable curiosity and a touch of OCD, can't stand not knowing why this stuff happens, lmao

Do bear in mind, it installs things in my documents as well as registry entries and idk what all else.

When I reinstalled Tiara I am now getting around 20 or so pop-ups saying "Delete etc language pack" when I try to open Data Packer. Data Packer, for some reason hasn't worked for awhile.  At first I thought it was because I combine all my packs into one.  Then I tried with official packs in the Steam version, the Nexon Launcher version, and the original standalone client version (190 full updated).  Regardless of which I used the end result was the same.  I can use Abyss with this just fine, or even make packs of the files and things work fine.  Though Abyss is needed in order to make the xml parts work.  That being said.  Data Packer seems to be out of commission.  This might be due to offsets changing, or something else.  It's been this way for about a year now but not widely spoken of.  Most use the MabiPacker capability (scripted in) of Tiara or they run data folder via Abyss.  You'll want to undo and changes to your packs before changing anything else though, or you'll potentially corrupt your packs.  I'd say try those other options though.  Myself I use Abyss with data folder personally, with no issues.  Others I've installed on are more of the same--they use this configuration as well with no issues.  GL.
