I also apparently have issues with cutscenes and have installed risky mods with the installer. I have no idea how you would intimate that from my two posts, but apparently I need to correct these issues that don't exist before daring to ask for help.
This right here, would be why you received such a response. Inability to read before posting.
If you had read the referenced content, you'd know why cutscenes are risk mods had been mentioned. And having properly read the post itself, you'd also notice that it was never said, nor implied you were using either.
Cutscenes are mentioned to speak the point that they are not even an option, there are no cutscene mods which you could be using for that content, and that the reason for this, was to ensure that said content was working correctly to begin with, since Nexon does have the tendency of breaking things themselves every time they touch something. I'm sure Drac's got other reasons beside that, but that's and obvious one even a non-modder can see.
Now for risky mods... Also was never said nor implied you were using them. They were mentioned for...
Actually. Let me do a direct copy and paste for you...
Mods that are done via Tiara are not of the game breaking variety, any that we have that might expose a person to being found out as to using mods are under the "Risky Mods" category.
Now, for the breakdown.
You present your problem, and assume it's mods without having read anything.
You are given an answer you did not like.
You insist it is mods.
You are given a large, rather negative, yet very informative response that says you need to read before you post. A very common requirement across the internet, not only to a modding site.
You feel attacked and admit to not knowing how this works in the slightest, then proceed to insist you have in fact read such information.
Breakdown part 2.
You present your problem, assume it's mods. Which couldn't be true, having read the information. As the mods contained within Tiara do not include any drop mods except for the removal of the animations, so items visually appear on the floor for pick up, without having to wait for the long "bounce" animation of the item dropping.
You receive an answer you did not like.
You still insist it's mods, yet having read "le info", or even the reply from Rydian, you would know that drops are server-sided, which we have no ability whatsoever to modify a server-sided aspect of the game, and it would not be difficult to learn what items can drop is not a client-sided file, nor is drop rate. If it were, the game would be horribly broken, and we could get a 100% drop rate of any item we like, and make any item drop from anything. Which brings this back to the quoted snip from Drac, further up in this post, regarding risky mods.
You were given the large, slightly negative, informative post.
You feel attacked, admit to not knowing how it works, and insist you have in fact read the information about how it works.
Maybe it's just me here, but I can't help but get the feeling you haven't read any information, and now are making some attempt to justify that by enforcing your idea it's the mods that are exclusively causing the problems.
And finally, Draconis said essentially, take the time to read, or do not use mods.
And that is exactly what it comes down to.
Especially in the case of modifying your software, or anything for that matter, you should be reading about what exactly is being modified and at least a brief once-over of how exactly the change was achieved.
Aside from modifying a company's licensed and possibly protected by law property being a main reason to ban such actions via the terms of agreement/service, and make it a bannable offence and in some cases, may require legal action against you.
Another reason to ban such modifications, is that stupid people will be stupid, and destroy their computers or worse by being too ignorant to read what they even just installed, or reading anything about it to know how to troubleshoot or reverse their decision to make said modification. It's not always as simple as just press the uninstall/delete button. Since due to the nature of modifying files, is that you're changing your old files, so deleting them/uninstalling would actually just destroy the original piece of software.
To go with that, earlier we had people going crazy over viruses and keyloggers in Tiara... Yet the URL the files were coming from, is not one we use, and is from a very very old version of Tiara from years back. People were claiming that Tiara from that link had keyloggers recently added to it, and tons of people had gotten hacked.
Yet the date of these claims did not match the last update of the files... And the files themselves, weren't even updated for use with the current version of the game.
So not only was there no update to those files, they also wouldn't even have worked, and would just break the game at the login screen due to the outdated XMLs the game would have killed itself when the pleoine engine loaded. Even if there had been a keylogger, you'd have never made it to the user/pass input screen to even have an issue. Ignorance, stupidity, and a mixture of both is the only cause of that event, and why reading before you modify something is such an important thing.
I am actually personal friends with a game developer who does exactly that, and outright bans all modifications because people will be too stupid to handle it, and instead accepts emails with mods and if the mod doesn't break the balance of the game, he adds it to the game itself in the options menu as an on/off toggle.
Unfortunately most devs/companies do not act in such a way, most won't even allow mods of ANY form, Nexon for example. Which brings it all back to... You should be reading or not modding.
That all being said, this is antique nowadays, but I recommend it be read, along with Drac's various guides and posts. Rydian's as well, he has done video tutorial guides.
