So, Draconis.Pendragon, there is no way to fix the mabiland problem?
With what I'm about to say I mean no disrespect towards you or anyone else but I feel now this needs to be addressed since you did address me directly, so I'm going to respond:
"EVERY" PC that I've personally installed updated Tiara (with my files as well) on via TeamViewer works fine. I point this out now because I admit, and I'm sure others that make mods can relate like Shaggy, Blade, Rydian, and others... Many issues are often the person's install (directory) being all borked up... Every PC I've installed this on has had .pack (package) issues to where they either needed to be redownloaded/rebuilt, data folders redone, etc. Put simply user error. Other situations have been the drivers not being updated or being an off brand graphics card like Intel integrated graphics, which for a time I had myself on a loaner PC, so I had first hand experience.
So to answer your question, yes there is a fix. Many use the updated Tiara specific files that I put together for Tiara 201 to update it to 202 and have no issues. I use my own personal version of mods that merges Tiara, DataCami, and some other ones as well. This I update for my personal use and share with a select few. I mention this to make a point... There's more chances in that case for things to go wrong, but they don't--it works fine. I check in on people using both types of mods from time to time when we talk so, I keep a fairly consistent pulse on things.
I felt the main need to post this because I admit, I'm frustrated that for many that something that should be so simple... Clearly isn't. So, no matter how I've tried to help others and taken time to do so, the end result is the same. A lot of people that are unhappy and unwilling to help themselves. Now I know how Shaggy and others feel lol.
I'll continue to post fixes and what not as I deem necessary. What I mean by this is I update my own mods right away. If I see Shaggy hasn't had time (aka busy irl) then I'll post my Tiara specific updates after a couple days usually. He deserves that respect at least (imho a lot more), as it's his baby.
So, I've taken a new stance on this:
If I see that I can answer a question fairly quickly and I know it's a quick fix... Also, that by my answering the question... I don't steal the person's chance to learning, then I'll answer their question and show the person how at the same time. The key point is that I've learned as in all things in life: knowledge is earned, not given. A person has to want to learn and be willing to understand it themselves. If they're not willing to do that and just want things handed to them on a silver platter, then I ignore them. It's hard for someone that does like helping others, but the thing is my time is valuable too. I've learned that one must respect themselves first and foremost. Shaggy and other's time is valuable too. People TOO OFTEN seem to forget that. We're not obligated to do this, we do this because we choose to. So I mean no malice in my words, but if a person "chooses" to take it that way, then that's their issue.
The other thing I've learned is, "Everybody Lies"... Meaning, everyone lies by omission, or intentionally. They don't tell us all of the conditions of their install etc. This isn't known until either they slip up and then it's like "ok, you're using 'x' mods as well..." or... until the person attempting to help, sees the files themselves. We can ask people to post all day long some screen caps of their directories etc. This doesn't work too often, however. There was one person that had asked for help and failed to mention that he'd had the same issue before several times and that he wasn't doing as he was asked to fix the problem. He also lied by omission. He was so insistent it had to be Abyss that was the issue (I know this is Tiara, but I mention this for principle only), but was unwilling to explore other possibilities. So I say this, "Help us to help you please." Dear lord, if you choose to limit yourself, then there's no one that can help you.
