but hey if it works for you to delete it, it may just be another one of those mods that acts funny for certain people like itemdb.english.txt

or in chocobubba's casethat problem is because it's downloading the files from your internet cache, so you'll need to delete your browser's history/cache to view the latest file http://puu.sh/aqB0j/fd0bdca502.png

this problem could be what always affects people with their items being untranslated and to fix that i will have to start putting the data files into a new directory for each release.

I use Chrome, and I deleted the history and cache from the beginning of time, restarted the browser, and also cleared all of the junk data from every browser (and my entire computer) using Glary Utilities. After that I redownloaded the installer from your site and reinstalled Tiara again, with a clean directory. Sadly, it continued to download the older files, just like my previous post.

when viewing the file from the url posted in my picture above does it still show the old version unlike my picture showing the latest version?

in anycase i'm currently changing the installer to use the revision number for the directory and disabling the use of old installers to prevent this problem.

It does, it's the exact same version as the one I posted earlier, I even opened and double-checked it, and it cuts off at the same place as well.

yea, so that proves your browser is still seeing the old version unlike mine showing the latest, anyway the problem will be fixed in the next release which i'll upload in a few hours.

I really appreciate it Shaggy, sorry for all the mess.

I'm curious though, since the downloads are done via the Tiara installer, would that really be caused by a browser? I thought it used some kind of FTP magic instead.


Edit: I wonder if it might be the ISP caching the files...

it uses a built in plugin that downloads via http, and the latest installer should be up and running so let me know if it fixes the problem.

Edit: Just logged in and tested everything, and it's smooth sailing. No issues on my end, no crashes from ninja skills like before, and everything is translated as far as I can tell. Thanks!

Okay this might be a dumb question or not , but i just installed the new Tiara and right after my 2nd password auto logs-in then the client takes time to load , then it automatically crashes, any ideas?

usually data folder mods don't crash you until you enter the mabinogi world, i would remove the data folder and try to login, if it still crashes then remove abyss, if it still crashes then check for custom .pack's (something like frontend.pack or uotiara.pack) in the \package\ folder and delete them, if it stills persists with you having a clean client then you'll need to reinstall mabinogi

if it's the data folder you can try reinstalling uo tiara and if it still crashes you'll need to delete folder/files in the data folder to narrow down the problem.

if it's abyss then you can use data packer.exe as an alternative, just be sure to remove mods and re-apply mods each time you make a change to the data folder.

quick reminder... if you aren't able to start mabinogi... go to abyss and turn off "ExtraThreads"... I forgot I had to turn that off so my client could start T_T shaggy please put notice or something... tyvm

Yeah, that's generally my thought.  I understand not being tech smart, but a lotta issues that are brought up, get covered in the main post.

Also should always read at least the 10 most recent posts as well.  Cuz 9/10 times, the most recent and common problems are answered there.

If those type of posts really stress you out though, best bet is not to answer them, or point out directions on where to find their answer and not help them other than that.  After so long you just build up a tolerance/stop caring.
