Actually, some of us truely can't. On my older computer, I couldn't run mabinogi at all, I would lag too hard when i could, and for some reason, with Tiara, it was bareable, and woul work 100% of the time instead of 5% of the time.

This is my problem... Without Abyss and Tiara I lag so hard, and then with it I have zero lag. I think it's pretty sad that players are the ones who have to make it so Mabinogi is even playable for some people because devCAT just doesn't care enough to do so themselves.

Abyss still works, so you could infact have less lag using the bitmap font.

same here. Abyss' bitmap font helps tremendously! Tiara is simply necessary for me to play at all.

so, what should be removed to stop crashing?

Anything involving propdb, like others have said.  (Explosive Kunai, when set into the ground, becomes a prop.  So the game looks at the (now old) propdb files and freaks out when it can't find the proper info for it.  From personal experience, the dungeon maps (dungeondb.xml and maybe dungeondb2) caused a freeze when you try to drop into the Rusty Kunai Alby dungeons.  There's also hearsay (grain of salt, etc) that some quest steps rely on viewing a cutscene, and the dungeon cutscene skippers might mess this up.

That is my experience, yes.  It might not be the same for everyone, this is just something I did with a bit of annoying trial and error.

first test: I can NOT confirm: i was testing with abyss and tiara, all crashes. Now Only tiara, and explosive Kunai training still crashes me. (removed abyss exactly like how the Abyss.ini first 3 lines said)

2ndt test: removed abyss and removed modfolder using only data packer > remove files.. ::  and it works...

if any files of uo tiara are affecting ninja skills it would be skillinfo.xml in the db folder, also i will be updating uo tiara in the new few hours.

try deleting your mabinogi cache in my documents/mabinogi/
that usually helps with disconnecting isuues

Hey Shaggy, I just updated my data folder and for some reason the latest version of features.xml.compiled is causing me to crash. I believe in the installer I turned on all of the options pertaining to it. (Managed to narrow down exactly what was causing the crash after a few minutes of trial and error)

Anyways, the moment the loading screen finishes after selecting a character, the client instantly closes completely with no error message. The moment I removed features.xml.compiled, the issue was gone.


Also, less important, but it seems some files lost their translations as of your latest update. A prime example is the Tanuki Ear Wig. (Was translated as of clean r189)

Don't use ninja skills is an option, not using Tiara is an option, and waiting for the great lord Shaggy who dedicates his time to helping us, is also an option.

On that note, I have noticed that without fail the moment I use the Explosive Kunai skill, I immediate crash just like the person above me. I haven't test all of the skills, but this one does it consistently the moment the prop should be rendered on the ground.

the un-tanslated items is because nexon messed up and untranslated a few hundreds lines, i tried to keep as many translated as i could, but you'll just have to wait until nexon re-translates them.

Normally I'd agree with you, Shaggy, and I do appreciate all that you do, but I'll have to disagree with you here for a few reasons.

Items that are untranslated in TiaraV189 were translated in a clean* version of Mabi V189
Turning on mini effects had no effect on the crashing from Explosive Kunai (I just tested this, multiple times)
On a clean* version of mabi, I used Explosive Kunai as well as all of the other ninja skills, and very, very rarely crashed. This crashing never occurred while I was the one using them either.
Using the current version of Tiara, using Explosive Kunai has caused me to crash at the exact same moment, without fail, at least the twenty or so times that I've tried.

*When I say clean, this means without Tiara or any data folder mods enabled. Abyss and mod sharker are still being used.

now it is an ongoing problem that due to the way itemdb.english.txt is packed into both the revision.pack and language.pack that it does untranslate items that nexon does currently have translated and that problem i can't fix due to not knowing why it happens for some and not others so to prevent it i may start using itemdb.xml again even though it's more prone to cause crashes instead of some items just being untranslated
(which is the worst of the two evils, might be best just to not install this mod if you don't use autobot or care to see fossil names before picking them up)

but if you were to look at my itemdb.english.txt you will see that it's identical to nexon's minus 4 line changes for gem and fossil name changes.

If explosive kunai is crashing you, look for and try deleting propdb.xml.

i'm assuming ubicommon_scene_prop_throwing_knife01 is for the  explosive kunai and mine is exactly as nexon's http://puu.sh/aqAym/d4af3a50e5.png
but hey if it works for you to delete it, it may just be another one of those mods that acts funny for certain people like itemdb.english.txt

that problem is because it's downloading the files from your internet cache, so you'll need to delete your browser's history/cache to view the latest file http://puu.sh/aqB0j/fd0bdca502.png

this problem could be what always affects people with their items being untranslated and to fix that i will have to start putting the data files into a new directory for each release.
