News

Nexon has recently updated Mabinogi to a 64 bit client. This update has broken many mods in memory patchers for the time being. The mod creators are working hard to essentially rebuild all mods from scratch, and this process will take some time. Please be patient, and stay tuned for more updates.

race.xml will be removed and replaced with race.english.txt as well so the only one of the three left that i can not replace with another method is skillinfo.xml

I'll probably just use DATA Packer to remove the mods for now until everything gets fixed up.

I guess I can do with MNG for now since that works.

UO Tiara works and comes with a patcher based off of MNG so use this and remove your mods with Data Packer.

Haha yeah, I got it to work.

I just thought I would come back to check when things got a little fixed up.

Thanks Shaggy.

Download JAP again.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mjap/files/v1/v1.2/Binaries/jap-1.2-2.rar/download
copy the 3 files into c:\nexon\mabinogi and overwrite.
I don't get that error anymore, but now whenever I get to the log-in screen, I get a "client.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" window.

i don't know to fix it either; usually it just fixes itself because its a problem with nexon not mods; you can try restarting your computer or goto c:\nexon\mabinogi\hshield\update\autoup.exe and update hack shield.

I don't get that error anymore, but now whenever I get to the log-in screen, I get a "client.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" window.
run update autobot.exe and to make sure you are up to date and delete itemdb.xml if you have it.

I updated autobot and I don't seem to have itemdb.xml. Still getting the error, yet I can play the game while the window saying the client needs to close is still up.

Shaggy, will your update delete files that you don't want to use anymore?

If not, I'm tempted to create a .bat that will clean up the data folder to remove any issues, involving no work from the user, just double click.

If it helps me, I'm in favor of it. However my opinion doesn't matter.

no, i was tempted to include the original R91 race.xml and itemdb.xml to overwrite modded outdated ones but i'd rather just have them phased out by deletion and i don't want to add them to be deleted by Tiara's Uninstaller because they may be using their own mods or another pack like Jinx that may or may not use them.

i really don't think a .bat needs to be created for just 2 files so far that are/will be phased out and if you want to create it you would have to keep posting it on every page so that it is not over looked so i'd rather find an easy double click solution myself and include it or just tell people to delete them manually next R92 if they happen to still have them and they are causing crashes.

really if they are having residual problems because of outdated data folder files they might as well delete/rename the folder and start with a new copy of UO Tiara.

I've had a couple people ask me on Skype about the crashing, I said delete skillinfo and itemdb, it took 2 hours for them to finally figure out how to do so.

This led me to consider creating a .bat to just do it automatically.

I guess I'll  just leave this as is though, and let it die out on its own accord.

Race.xml, skillinfo.xml, itemdb.xml, features.xml.compiled
Files to check for, and delete or update.

As well as show prices on items feature enabled by patcher.  This will need to be set to 0 within the corresponding .ini file.

One of these, should solve your problem.

currently only skillinfo.xml is causing crashes for those people that downloaded my pre-patch to R91 and i mistakenly kept the old skillinfo.xml in it and those that haven't yet updated so all they need to do is update using tiara or autobot.

and itemdb.xml only crashes when viewing equips of someone with the umbrella or when going into the general shops so admittedly i could have done this update better but in the long run its better they get phased out and we just put in a few hours more of tech support but today hasn't been as bad as yesterday was, at least for me anyway; i actually may have time to finish the frontend on autobot today.

i did that it still wont work :x
you could disable all your mods and it probably won't help your problem and if i knew how to solve it; i would help but like i said it usually just goes away and if all else fails do a clean install of mabi/delete version.dat and launch mabinogi.exe.

From a fresh mabi download...

Downloaded and installed Tiara r91
Downloaded and installed Detailed Map
Ran mabi. No change. Why? Its not integrated yet. Sorry if I'm used to drag and drop. Thats all thats needed for my other games. ;) If its possible for you to make it completely out-of-the-box that'd be awsome.
Ran Update AutoBot
Ran Mabi. Immediate crash.
Ran to forum.
Replaced the dbghelp.dll file with the .zep
Ran Mabi. Fail.
Back to forums!
Downloaded and installed DATA Packer
Downloaded and installed Autobot
Ran DATA Packer (Find - Modify)
Ran Mabi. Crashed durring Pieon loading.
Cried a little. Back to forums.
Deleted skillinfo.xml
Deleted itemdb.xml
Deleted race.xml
Ran Mabi. Froze durring log in (halfway). Repeated to make sure it wasnt a fluke.
Ran DATA Packer (Remove)
Ran Mabi. Ran fine (no mods).
Forum!
Deleted Skills folder
RE replaced dbghelp.dll with the dbghelp.zep
Ran Autobot
Ran DATA Packer
Ran Mabi. Its working.
Working. o.o Gah! (slams head into desktop)

3 hours from clean client, to finding mabimods, to tiara, to working. Yes, 3. It was painful.
and it was all in vain.... kinda
Mimics highlight, but how do I TARGET them? This and cutscene skipping are why I searched to begin with. lol
Mabi also takes considerably longer to load now. o.o from 1-3min to now 3-6min.
Is there any kind of list of in-game commands or options not found in the ini?

Hope this helps your debugging...

replaced dbghelp.dll with the dbghelp.zep???
ZEP requires a modded dbghelp.dll and the original dbghelp.dll renamed as dbghelp.zep so if you were replacing dbghelp.dll thus not having both of them then that wasted alot of your time.

data packer is not needed.

no their is no in game menu or list for enabling/disabling, you do that while mabi is closed with a custom uo tiara install, zep.ini or soon to come AutoBot's Frontend.

and that mod that is called TargetMimics in zep.ini so that they can be targeted while sleeping is probably being disabled due to you not using the patcher correctly but UO Tiara is working because you have used data packer instead of the patcher.

after updating autobot i assume it asked you if you were on windows 7? then it installed the patcher correctly and you had an immediate crash? did you try changing thread delay to get the patcher working? instead it looks like you disabled it and used data packer instead which has no "TargetMimics" since thats a dll edit.

assuming that is what happened; you can edit patcher.ini ForcePatch=0 and run update autobot.exe to reinstall the patcher then edit zep.ini's thread delay to get it working.

Is this what you mean then? In the mabi folder:
dbghelp.dll size 1,055 kb
dbghelp.zep size 155 kb

Did Data Packer Remove again. How do I get Tiara to load without it?
And, I click NO after it asks if im win7. I have xp.

no..
switch it dbghelp.dll=155kb
and when you run mabi it crashes?
then edit thread delay higher or lower depending on the error number/msg until it works.

if you on xp chances are you are the admin and no UAC with Vista/Windows 7...
have you tried adjusting your thread delay in zep.ini?

okay then chances are my patcher simply will not work for you; try JAP copy the 3 files to the mabinogi folder and overwrite http://sourceforge.net/projects/mjap/files/v1/v1.2/Binaries/jap-1.2-2.rar/download
