Sorry, could you elaborate on this? What do you mean by jump the the bottom of the file? What are you supposed to update the files to? Which files specifically need to be updated?
Sorry, i just touched the topic under the assumption all readers knew everything i wanted about modding.
Check file size. If same size, jump to the bottom of the file. Typically, as in not always, when the xml files get new entries, they are placed on the bottom.
Basically what i originally expected, you'll check to see if an XML file needs updated, not actually expecting many people to update all these files by themself.
First step, you need to know which XML you want to double-check. Typically the best way to check if a file will need updated, open the newest pack file/update in mabiunpack. Most common problem is update to db files, so that is where you will start: mabiunpack->data/db.
Now i'll give you an example that applies to the most recent update. When looking in the 172 pack file, you should see a charactercondition.xml file. Now, leaving mabiunpack open in the background just to double-check, navigate to mabinogi/data/db and see if you have a charactercondition.xml in that folder. If you do, that means nexon has updated this file, and if you do not remove or update the charactercondition.xml in your own mabi folder, then you will likely either be missing graphics/fx or the entire game will crash. The double-checking will help keep you from accidentally deleting a mod you'd wish to keep.
I expect all this is covered in various and more detailed guides scattered around though, if i'm not clear or you just wish to learn more.
